Beam had dinner with Phana, Kit, Wayo, and Ming tonight right after Moon Training ended.
"You look absolutely dreadful," Kit couldn't stop teasing Beam for the dance practice he had to go through all week during the Moon competition.
"Karma really does exist, huh?" Even Phana couldn't stop himself from teasing Beam, although Wayo gave him a glare, not approving of Phana's behavior.
"Oh, stop it, P'." Ming pleaded. "You're going to get us in trouble. P'Beam is starting to take this seriously."
"Oh, you don't know how he behaved during the competition two years ago when Phana had to go through it. Beam mocked him every chance he got. It's a disgraceful beauty contest for Beam!" Kit defended himself. "Don't bring your Engineering loyalty to me now just because he's one of yours."
Ming sighed. He knew. Beam made it clear not only in front of the freshmen but to the three previous Engineering Moons—Kongpob, Forth, and himself.
But Beam had changed. Forth arranged to talk to him, and Ming didn't want to ruin Forth's hard work and Beam's positive behavior.
"But P'Beam will have to run 100 laps and do 1000 push-ups if he fails to win the Campus Moon title," Ming said.
"What?!" Phana's eyes widened. "They can do that?! Don't listen to them!" Wayo exclaimed in concern. "That's terrible."
"Fair game, Beam." Kit grinned.
Ming disagreed with Kit this time too. "P'Kit, please..."
Beam chuckled. "It's okay, Ming. I deserve it."
Kit's grin automatically vanished from his face. Beam said what?
"No, you don't, you work hard." Ming continued to defend Beam. "You're the only one in SOTUS history who could complete the task of getting 1000 senior signatures in 5 days! You're the only freshman who attended SOTOS when others gave up! I won't let anyone say that to you. Not even P'Kit!"
Wayo made a WOW with his lip movement. Ming shifted his priorities from his beloved P'Kit to Beam? WOW.
Ming looked troubled now too. Phana was stunned too. Kit couldn't believe what Ming had just done.
Beam blinked. Ming had just gotten himself in trouble. Seriously? Even against his beloved P'Kit.
Ming sighed. "Sorry, P'Kit... But I think P'Beam..." He lowered his gaze and didn't dare to look back at Kit.
Kit blinked. Usually, he would have exploded in anger at Ming's foolishness, but this time, instead of hitting his head, he gently tapped him.
Ming looked up. He was confused too.
Kit smiled. "I didn't actually say that to Beam. I was just teasing him."
"Your teasing could make P'Forth's efforts to make P'Beam take this competition seriously go to waste, P'..." Ming said it softly. "Please don't do that to P'Forth, his days are already hard. He has a lot to do."
Kit sighed. "Forth is lucky to have a loyal junior like you."
"Everyone is loyal to P'Forth." Ming said.
