Once you finally get yourself together, you couldn't help the instant embarrassment you felt throughout your body when you realise what you just did.

You. Crying. In Ghost's embrace.

On top of that, the man reassured you it was alright when you woke up for the second time. But you definitely didn't feel alright at all about what you just did.

So, doing what you think is the best thing to do, you repeatedly apologise to him before quickly excusing yourself with such a lame excuse even a toddler won't buy it.

Which he thought to be cute but didn't call you out on it.

He must be going mental with this one because he feels easier to open up to you after you came crying to him.

He knows how bad it looks and weird even for him to think about, but he couldn't help it, and he doesn't see any better chance than this.

Although he doesn't mean to take advantage of your vulnerable state, he feels right to be there for you when you need someone the most. And hopefully with this, he finally can talk about it with you face to face like a true adult.

You were currently waiting at the entrance of the tunnel for the SOF to clear the mess inside.

You certainly are not waiting for a certain corpse to be brought out. Yeah, no.

Well, maybe a little. You want to see it for the last time?

Until this very second, you still can't believe what you did. Is this the end? Will no one bother you anymore? Will you get your happily ever after?

Many spiralling thoughts run free inside your head until two officers walk out of the tunnel with a dead body on a stretcher.

There's a white fabric covering it.

But you're certain that one is the one you've been waiting for.

You snapped out of yourself, then quickly approached them, standing in their way to stop them.

Clearing your throat just to be sure your voice won't crack, you then speak in Russian, "Sorry, is this the target?" You can't stop yourself from being weirded out at how you ask the question. But again, how are you supposed to say it? They don't even know the details of the mission, so you can't go telling around about it either.

Thankfully, one of them seems to understand what you're trying to imply, and they nod. "Da. Is there something you need, ma'am?"

"Where are you going to take him?"

"We were told to take him to the transportation. He'll be flying out back to be investigate further." You furrowed your brow at his words.

"Is your commander in charge of this?"

"Yes, ma'am."

You were about to ask more when you reminded yourself they have no right about it, so it'll be a waste of time. And if the one in charge is the commander, that means Laswell is the one who commands him.

So calling Laswell is the best thing to do before it's too late, and you're going to regret it for the rest of your life.

Thanking the two officers, you apologise to them for the sudden stop and wish them a good day as you let them pass through.

Then you turned around and looked for one of the team.

It was so careless of you to just discard your vest and all like it doesn't matter when you run inside. Now you kind of regret it because you don't know where your things are anymore.
