You don't even know why you let out a scream so raw it makes your throat hurt, but you keep going until eventually your voice dies down itself.

The handgun that you've held so tight, you are sure it feels like it's embedded into your skin, fell from its place and let out a clink when its metal surface hit the ground.

You see how the blood splatters. Going through the body, which makes the man look up at you. But what you couldn't grasp in your mind was how instead of a pained expression, he lets out a smile. A smile so soft and gentle you could almost feel its affection he tried to show you.

Your heart clenched at the sight.

Your airway was being restricted so suddenly it makes you gasp.

Your hands that were always so steady since you became a sniper are now trembling so hard it feels like they don't belong to you.

Your legs wobbly as you tried to take step by step closer to the scene.

You notice how the other people around you were shouting something, but you never registered their sound inside your head.

You didn't hear anything.

You can't hear it.

All you could see in front of your very eyes was the man now lying on the ground. Bleeding. Red.

You open your mouth to say something, but nothing comes out.

A hand placed upon your shoulder, but you can't feel it. You only keep walking forward, one foot after another, until you finally come to a stop. Right in front of the commotion.

"(Y/N)..." A voice calling your name so gently it hurts to the point you couldn't process whose it belongs to.

Your whole body still trembling every so often, you're sure it's not even yours anymore. Is it even yours in the first place? You don't belong here.

"(Y/N), thank you. I'm fine." Another voice calling out to you but now accompanied with a hand reaching out to hold yours.

The touch jolted you back to your senses as you looked away from the man on the ground and now looked at the one holding your hand.

You want to say something in return, but no words come out. You only stare at him. Your mind can't process what's going on.

"Angel..." Comes the gentle voice once again, which you realise now is coming from the man that is exactly on the ground, bleeding out.

Upon hearing the nickname, your vision suddenly becomes blurry as you feel a hot tear roll out of your eyes down to your chin.

And there it goes, the same smile you saw earlier painting the man's face, the face of who you used to call your father when you first came to this world.

"You..." He lets out a cough, which contained blood. You look at where it's splattered on the ground close to your boots. "Grown."

You gaze back at him as more tears pour from your eyes. You quickly wiped them when you realised that you're actually crying. But why? You had no idea.

Ignoring another pain raised from your chest, you tear your gaze away and look at the man that is still holding your hand. "You're bleeding." You could finally utter something as you pointed out at his arm, a streak of red beginning from his upper arm down to the lower, stopping at his wrist. The injury itself looks like a missed shot but an intentional one at the same time.

You scrunched your brow in confusion. Do you think too much?

He only shrugged as he let go of your hand and came to stand on his feet. "It's fine. Nothing serious."
