Author's Note, Please Read: This is another route to end the story that I have in mind but decided not to use. But there's a reader that asked for it, so here I present to fulfil my promise to grant their wish. (Shout out to kokichi-lover 🙌🏻!)

Buckle your seatbelt and ready your popcorn, it's going to be a long one with 5.5k+ word count.

Thank you for paying attention! I hope this alternate both satisfied and hurt you in a good way!

It was you that was supposed to let out a scream so raw your throat hurt when you believed you were too late to take some action.

It was you that was supposed to run and cradle the dead body of the person you hold close to your heart.

It was you that was supposed to be in that position...

You... and not the other way around.

Certainly not a certain Russian man.

Not that once-familiar sweet face you longed for so hard your heart clenched every time you thought about it. And now that face so close you couldn't even fathom when the phantom of his touches cradled your body like a fragile little thing.

Up close, you can see how it's now more rugged than you could remember, more scarred, older, and definitely changed much, but somehow, that same once gentle and soft feature was overlapping them.

Delusional. You were about to let out a chuckle at your own thought.

But instead of your voice, it was blood that was coming out of your mouth.

"Angel, please don't talk. You'd be okay. I'm sorry."

Someone was trying to say something.

You could see it was the man in front of you who was talking from how his mouth was moving. But you can't process what he'd said.

And as black dots started to fill your vision, you blink once, twice, thrice, but your eyes only get more blurry. You felt dizzy.

You cough up once again.

You look down to see the man's front, vest? Was stained with crimson. Is that your blood?

"My love, keep your eyes open."

You furrowed your brow when you started to feel your airway begin to close. Slowly, it was getting hard to breathe.

When you attempted to talk, the man was being shoved hard by someone.

And that someone now holds you, replacing him.

You move your gaze a little to the now-familiar mask.

"Ghost..." You tried to talk, but no voice came out. You only feel how your mouth moves. You were about to try again, but the man stopped you.

"Don't. Please don't." His stern voice clearly heard through your hearing. But all you could register was his vulnerability seeping through his very soul, carried by his words.

You see how he's looking up and shouting something for you're not sure who.

"SOMEONE CALL A FUCKING MEDIC! NOW!"

What medic? Who's hurt?

Then a hand pressed on the left side of your chest. Your heart.

Just then you feel something warm was pouring out of it. Your breath becomes shorter. Your throat felt so tight you coughed blood again.
