The scent of sizzling takoyaki filled the air on the deck of Hachi's takoyaki boat.
"Soooooo gooood!!!" Luffy bellowed, his mouth stuffed to the brim with piping hot takoyaki. His cheeks bulged as he barely took the time to chew before reaching for another, sauce dripping down his chin.
"Right?! Hacchin's takoyaki are the best in the world, right?" Camie beamed, her green hair swaying as she enthusiastically handed out more plates, delighted to see their enjoyment.
"I can't stop myself! These takoyaki are just too good!!" Luffy mumbled through a mouthful, stuffing another into his already full mouth, eyes practically sparkling with pure joy.
"They really are delicious. The sauce... it's got a complex depth to it." Sanji took slow, appreciative bites, his keen chef's senses analyzing every layer of flavor. He swirled the sauce on his tongue, nodding in admiration.
"Having a good food stand on a ship must be great, huh?" Usopp mused, watching as Chopper devoured his share with equal enthusiasm, the tiny reindeer's hooves barely able to keep up with his appetite.
"I've never had takoyaki before! They're delicious~~!" Brook hummed, his bony fingers deftly holding his chopsticks as he enjoyed the new experience.
"These ones have soup inside, and these ones have mochi!" Camie chirped, eagerly piling more onto their plates.
"Nyu! Everything is free for you guys today!" Hachi declared, grinning as he flipped more takoyaki on the grill. His tentacles worked seamlessly, turning the golden spheres with expert precision. "This is a thank you for helping us!!"
His cheerful expression faltered slightly as he glanced towards Nami. He hesitated, shifting on his feet, tentacles twitching with nervous energy. "Um... how is it? Um... Nami...?"
Y/N, seated beside Nami on the railing, glanced up while chewing leisurely, observing the shift in atmosphere. The laughter around them softened, and the lively chatter came to a halt. The other five boys, mid-bite, froze, exchanging wary glances as nervous sweat dotted their brows.
Nami slowly turned to Hachi, her expression unreadable. Silence stretched between them, thick with unspoken words.
"...You know this doesn't mean I forgive you or anything, right?" Her voice was cold, carrying the weight of old wounds and unresolved pain.
Hachi immediately flailed his arms, his distress evident. "No, no! Of course not! I didn't mean that! I just wanted to know if you liked the taste...!! Really!!!"
Nami stared at him for another long moment before the corners of her lips softened into a small, genuine smile. "...It's really delicious."
Hachi's eyes widened, shimmering with unshed tears. "Nyuuu~~ really? Really?"
"Heh." The tension broke as the rest of the crew smiled at the heartwarming exchange.
"All right! You guys keep on eating!" Luffy cheered, shoveling more food into his mouth without a care in the world.
"Yeah! You keep making them, and we'll keep eating them!!" Hachi declared with renewed vigor.
"Hey, mermaid! Can we get some more over here!?" Franky's voice bellowed from the Sunny.
"Right! Coming up!!" Hachi called back enthusiastically.
"Hey, octopus guy, how do you make this sauce?" Sanji leaned forward, curiosity flickering in his sharp eyes.
"Nyuu!? This sauce is a secret recipe passed down from a legendary takoyaki stand from ages past..." Hachi began, his voice dipping into an air of mystery.
