Chapter: Odessa’s Visit
The moment Billie heard the familiar knock on the front door, she froze mid-step, her hands trembling slightly with anticipation. Then, as the door opened and Odessa stepped inside, Billie’s entire face lit up. She began stimming immediately, tapping her fingers rapidly and bouncing on the balls of her feet. Her vocal tic, a cheerful “Beep-beep!” echoed through the room.
Odessa grinned, setting her bag down and holding her arms out wide. “There’s my girl!” she said, moving closer.
Billie practically launched herself into Odessa’s arms, squeezing her tightly. She pulled back slightly, signing with quick, excited movements. I missed you so much. So much!
Odessa laughed, brushing a stray hair from Billie’s face. “I missed you too, Bils. Are you ready to spend the whole day together?”
Billie nodded eagerly, her fingers drumming against her thighs as her body hummed with happiness.

A Day of Connection
They started in the backyard, sitting under the shade of the large tree. Odessa had brought a small picnic with snacks and lemonade, and the two of them lounged on a soft blanket. Billie took a deep breath, soaking in the moment, her fingers tracing patterns on her favorite fidget toy.
Odessa looked at Billie with a soft smile. “How are you feeling today?”
Billie hesitated, then signed slowly, Better now that you’re here. But the past few days were hard.
Odessa nodded, her gaze serious but warm. “Do you want to talk about it?”
Billie looked down at her hands, signing after a moment. Too many changes. My tics have been bad. I felt like I couldn’t stop anything.
Odessa reached out, placing a gentle hand on Billie’s arm. “You’re so strong for getting through it, Billie. I know it’s tough, but you’re doing amazing.”
Billie’s lips twitched into a small smile, her hands twitching slightly as she stimmed. Thanks for saying that. It helps.

A Talk About the Future
As the afternoon stretched on, Billie leaned her head against Odessa’s shoulder, feeling the warmth of the moment. Odessa shifted slightly, looking down at her. “Can I ask you something?”
Billie tilted her head curiously and nodded.
“What do you think about... us? Like, where we’re headed?”
Billie’s hands hesitated, her fingers fumbling for a moment before she signed, I think about it a lot. I want us to keep growing. But... I get scared.
“Scared of what?” Odessa asked gently.
Of not being enough, Billie signed, her movements small and unsure.
Odessa cupped Billie’s face, making sure she was looking at her. “Billie, you’re more than enough. You’re everything I could ever want. I love you, and I’ll be here for you no matter what.”
Tears welled up in Billie’s eyes, but she smiled, stimming by clapping her hands softly. I love you too.

Evening Relaxation
After their heartfelt conversation, the two went inside to relax. Odessa put on one of Billie’s favorite shows, and they curled up on the couch together. Billie felt a sense of calm she hadn’t experienced in days.
