Chapter 2

"And I think that's everything," I said, feeling accomplished as Steven and I finally finished cleaning up after the twins first birthday party. It was late that night and the kids were already asleep. "I'm exhausted."

"Me too, babe," Steven replied and sat down on the couch with me. I shifted my position and nuzzled my nose into his neck, breathing in his familiar scent. He wrapped an arm around my waist, bringing me closer.

Steven turned on the TV and I laid on his chest, barely paying attention to what was happening on the screen. I let out a happy sigh as I felt my husbands hands run through my hair.

"You like that?" He asked.

"Mhmm," I replied.

Suddenly, he stopped and turned off the TV. "I think you need some sleep." All I could do was nod and Steven stood up, carefully picking my up bridal style.

"No, no, I can walk myself upstairs." I tried to stand up but Steve refused to put me down. "Steve, come on."

"Nope, I want to carry my beautiful wife to bed, so that's what I'll do," he told me, being his normal, stubborn self.

We both changed and crawled into bed. I sat up and straddled his waist, gently running my fingers over his abs. "Steven?"

"Yes?"

"Kiss me," I whispered and he sat up with me, pulling my face to his to kiss me. I felt the familiar sensation that I felt every time I kissed him, and smiled.

"What?" He asked, feeling me grin against his lips.

"You," I said, looking into his memorizing chocolate brown eyes. "I'm addicted to you, Steven Yeun."

At my words, he pulled me in again for another kiss. A couple minutes later, we had settled into bed with my head on Steven's bare chest as usual. It was then silent for a moment until we both said, "I love you."

Before I even opened my eyes the next morning, I reached out to pull myself closer to Steven, only to grab onto air. "Steven?" I mumbled, trying to feel around for him on the bed. Finally, I opened my eyes and say up to see that I was the only one in the room.

My vision was blurry because of the fact that I had just woken up, so I rubbed my eyes and went to get changed.

"Steven? Emmie?" I called over and over again while searching the house for them. Even the twins were gone. I made the assumption that they had gone out and moved into the kitchen to make myself something to eat.

Me being me, I was too lazy to make something elaborate so I settled on cereal. Right after I finished, the chime of the door was heard. "Steve?" I called out, hoping that he was home.

There was no response, making me nervous until Steven walked in, holding the twins with Emmie next to him. Emmie was struggling to carry a bunch of grocery bags so I helped her out by taking some.

"Hey, Laur. I took them out to get the list of stuff we needed." Steven set down the twins and Caiden took of walking like normal as Cleo just sat there at his feet.

"Em, will you watch CJ?" I asked and she nodded, disappearing into the living room.

I walked over to Steven and draped one arm around his neck. "I was gonna go out and buy all that stuff today. You didn't have to do that."

"I know, but I wanted to let you sleep in for once," he replied.

"Mmm, thank you," I mumbled before he kissed me with the soft touch of his lips. I felt something holding onto my leg and looked down to see Cleo standing up, hugging my leg.

"Up!" She squealed. The twins know a couple of words like mama and dada and up, even though it comes out more like 'uh'.

I reached down and picked her up, placing her on my hip. "Hey, Cleo. Mommy missed you this morning." She smiled and kicked her legs like she always did when she was happy.

I kissed Cleo's nose gently and suddenly I heard the house phone ring. "I'll get it."

"Hello?" I asked into the phone.

"Hey Lauren, it's Robert."

"Oh hey Robert. What do ya need?" I became nervous as the conversation went on. Normally when Robert called people, it meant that their character on the show was gonna go.

"I'm sorry to bother you, and I know that you and Steven are off work today, but I'm gonna need you to come in today for a talk," Robert replied.

I hesitated for a moment before replying. "Oh.....okay. I'll just have to find a babysitter for Emmie and the twins and-"

He cut me off. "No, there's no need for that. Just bring them and we will have someone look after them while we talk."

"Alright, when should we come?"

"Meet me in my office at....let's say....4:45?" He asked.

"Alright, we will see you then." With that, we said our goodbyes and hung up.

This can't be good.

What do you guys think so far?? I know that the story is really boring so far, but I promise something bigger will happen soon and I think it'll be pretty good so I'm excited to see your reactions
