I sat there in shock, my mouth hanging open. My hand reached out and I shook Lauren's shoulder, not taking my eyes off of Emmie. "Lauren...wake up," I stuttered out."What?" She mumbled, still half asleep.
"S-she's...." I couldn't even make out a sentence.
"She's what?!"
"She's...alive," I mumbled, and Lauren shoved me out of the way so that she could listen for a heartbeat. I waited there for a moment, not knowing what to do. "Oh my god," Lauren whispered.
"DOCTOR! WE NEED A DOCTOR!" I yelled out, getting out of Emmie's bed to run to the door. As soon as I made it there, two women quickly rushed in, going to Emmie's side. "She has a heartbeat," I informed them.
"That's impossible," One of the ladies said as she took out her stethoscope, placing it gently over Emmie's heart. The room was filled with complete silence as we all awaited for the doctor to respond. "How the hell..." Her sentence trailed off as she stood back up, looking at the other doctor in the room. "Get doctors, IV's, medication, everything she'll need!"
The woman nodded, rushing out of Emmie's hospital room. The other lady was about to walk out as well when Lauren stopped her.
"Why are you helping her now?" She asked, confusing me. "A doctor told me that they knew she wouldn't survive, and they stopped trying. So why now?"
The lady paused for a moment. "Because now it's obvious that she wants to keep fighting."

One day...
21 hours...
And 12 minutes...
One day, twenty one hours, and twelve minutes since they made Lauren and I leave Emmie's room, since we found out Emmie was still alive.
Thankfully, the cast were all pitching in to help us take care of Caiden, so we didn't have to worry about him.
I glanced down at Lauren who had her head on my lap. We were sitting in the waiting from during the middle of the night on one of the small couches. Lauren had fallen asleep, but I refused to. I refused to let the exhaustion take over me while my little girl was fighting for her life.
I ran my fingers through Lauren's hair, letting out a tired sigh. My eyes slowly started to close while my eyelids felt as if they were being weighed down.
No, don't give in to the sleep.
No...don't...
°•°Lauren's POV°•°
I had been awake for at least twenty minutes, just staring at the ground with my head still resting on Steven's lap. Not knowing if he had finally fallen asleep, I didn't move my position until I noticed a nurse step out from behind the desk in the room and start to approach us.
Slowly, I lifted my head up and glanced at a sleeping Steven. A small
Smile spread across my face and I leaned forward to gently kiss his lips."Mrs. Yeun?" The nurse asked and I turned around to face him.
"Yes?"
"I have some good and bad news," she began. "Which would you like to hear first?"
"Good," I quickly said.
"Emerson is awake in her room-"
I cut her off, my voice full of joy as I asked, "Really?!"
"Yes."
Without letting her finish, I jumped up and ran down the hallway to Emmie's room, pushing through the door.
"Emmie!"
Emmie's head snapped up. "Lauren!"
Suddenly, I became confused because of the fact that she called me Lauren. Emmie hadn't called me Lauren in a year and a half.
I shrugged it off and rushed over to her side. "Hey, baby." My hand gently brushed the hair from her sweaty forehead. "How are you feeling?"
"Okay I guess," she said. "They gave me pain medicine, and it's working."
We both looked towards the door when it was suddenly pushed open by Steven. "Daddy!" Emmie yelled reaching out as he ran over to hug her, Emily walking in with Caiden soon after.
Since when was Emily here? Huh, weird.
After smiling at Emily, I looked back at Steven who was still holding onto Emmie tightly. They both had tears running down their faces, and I noticed Steven whispering something to Emmie who nodded.
"It'll be okay now," I said to both of them. "You'll fight through it."
"Until the end," Emmie finished, taking both Steven and I's hands.
"Yeah," Steven said with a smile.
We quietly talked for a few minutes until Emmie whispered, "Uhh, since when did Emily have a baby?"
We all glanced back at Emily who was on her phone with Caiden bouncing up and down in her lap. I gave Emmie a confused look as she looked back at Steven and I.
"What do you mean?" Steven asked when we realized that she wasn't joking.
"Why does Emily have that baby over there?" Emmie asked again.
"Em....that's your brother," I said nervously.
Emmie stared at me. "What are you talking about?!"
"Emmie, I know this will sound weird, but what do you know about yourself?" Steven asked.
After a moment, she spoke up again. "I'm Emerson Yeun, I'm Steven Yeun's daughter, I love in Georgia, my dad is on the walking dead, I'm nine years old, and I'm very very short."
Nine years old?
"Emmie, you're eleven," I said.
"Are you messing with me?" She laughed.
"You don't remember do you?" I responded, shaking my head.
"Don't remember what?" Emmie asked.
Everything....
A/N
Chapter question: I can't really think of one right now, so can I just ask for feedback please???I just thought that I should tell you guys that I've found a way to sorta deal with all the bullying and pain. So....I've started writing my own songs. Every day when I come home from school and I'm home alone, I get out my notebook and write lyrics and sing them and other songs by other people. This probably sounds weird, but I feel like singing and pouring out all my emotions into my music and the songs I like to sing makes me feel a bit better. I've always loved singing since I was really really little, so I thought why not?
Chapter shoutout goes to @His_name_is_Glenn even though they don't comment I just wanted to give them a shoutout for voting :)
