Sixty Eight

When Lilith went to bed, I looked over at Caius tiredly. 

"Are you okay?" He asked. 

"Yes, just very tired," I said. 

He nodded and moved close to me. He placed one hand on my back and the other on my cheek. 

I lifted my head to look at him.

"Have I ever told you how beautiful you look?" Caius said with a bright smile. 

"Many... Though I still don't understand how you can call me that," I sighed.

"You are beautiful," 

I looked down and shook my head.  

"Izzy," he said his finger touching my chin. Gently, Caius tilted my face upwards, enough to where I was looking at him. 

"I'm not Caius," I whispered attempting to look down, but he had a gentle yet firm grip of me. I wanted to look down but with his strength I could not. 

"Can we not talk about this?" I said. 

"Why?" he asked. "Why do you believe that you arent beautiful?" He asked. 

I stayed quiet.

"Izzy, answer me," Caius said. 

"I just dont see it that way. thats why," I finally spat out. 

Caius observed me for a few moments before speaking. "You are beautiful, absolutely beautiful," He said. "You're perfect," he said.

"I am beyond not perfect," I scoffed. 

"Why do you say that?" He asked keeping calm. 

"I've gotten my mom killed. I got my friends killed not one occasion but two. My fiancé is dead. I've gotten them all killed. I lash out on people for absolutely no reason. I just everything is wrong about me Caius," My voice became increasingly louder and so did the pitch of my voice. 

"Hey... hey," Caius said bringing both his hands on each side of my cheeks. "Look at me, I know you don't think you are perfect or beautiful but you are. But please trust me when I say that." He said. 

I pulled his hand away. 

"Izzy," he said slowly. 

I moved away from him and went over to Liliths crib. I watched her sleep. My hand moved to her forehead just observing my beautiful child. I took a few calming breaths then turned back to Caius. "I'm going to take a walk, I need some air," I said. 

Caius hesitated, "Do you want me to come with you?" He asked.

"No I just need a few moments to myself. I promise I am not running away as I have nowhere to go, plus why would I leave Lilith? I just need a few minutes to calm down before I just do something stupid or say something stupid," I said lowly. 

He took a few moments. He looked as if he was thinking about it. Caius then nodded. 

I took a deep breath. "I'll be back in a bit," I said. 

He nodded and moved over to Lilith. He towered over her touching her forehead. Then I left. 

I exited the castle hand just began walking. It was raining outside but that didn't bother me. The fresh air was relaxing. I walked along the sidewalk trying to clear my mind. I ended up walking back to the park that Caius and I brought Lilith to. I walked up to the swing and sat on it not really caring if it was wet. I began to swing my legs back and forth. The rain splashed over my body. When the rain picked up and my clothes were soaked, I decided to head back to the castle.
