My heart raced. Aro opened the door. "Come in," he said.

I nodded and moved over. He pointed a to a couch. I moved over and sat down. Aro sat in a infront of me.

"Does Caius know youre here?" He asked.

"No," I said.

"He is with Marcus Lilith and Carlisle," I said. "Felix and Demetri are helping me with a cover story."

He nodded.

"Lets set some ground rules," I said. "No yelling, no death threats, no name calling.  I want this to be civil and figure out a way we can live amungst each other."

"Agreed," he said.

"Alright, forewarning I will be asking some questions and I want you to know that these aren't accusations I just want to know the truth even if it hurts," I said.

He nodded.

"What started us butting heads? I mean I know when I first arrived I was a bit childish and well trashed a room. And I was punished," I looked down. "How come 50?"

He sighed. "I has just delt with an execution over a male who commited a crime. He had created many vampires and I was still very angry when I heard about it. I did go overboard which is why I apologized to you when in the hospital," he said.

I nodded.

"Why did you kill my mother?"

"She knew," he said.

"I never told her about anything. I told her where my location was. But I did not tell her a single thing about vampires," I replied.

He closed his eyes for a moment thinking. "I swear I remember her knowing about vampires. Give me a moment to go back," he said.

I nodded and looked down.

He was quiet for a long time. He looked down after. "I was wrong," he said to me.

I looked down tears in my eyes. "Okay," I whispered.

"Why did you allow Caius for me to call her when you knew she was dead?"

"You needed to know one way or another and unfortunately that was the easiest way," he said.

I nodded and looked down.

"I never meant what I said about your family. I was heated in the moment and just said the first insult that came to mind," I whispered.

"It hurt. A lot Izzy, you dont know what happened to my family," he said.

"I did, Jane told me. I should've known better then to say that to you. Or to anyone. Im really sorry about your family. You didnt deserve it," I said.

He nodded and moved to take my hand. I pulled my hand away. "You can later. Not now," I said.

He nodded.

"Did you ask Chelsea to break our bond?"

"Yes. He was putting all his time into you. It was messing up his judgement when it came to trials. Most people he would say who were guilty now said innocent," he said. "In simple terms. You were destracting him and he is a leader. He refused to make time for both you and us," he said.

"I started having mental health issues. He was going to send me away to a group home. He wanted to get rid of me. He didnt want to take the time to help me. He bit and attacked me," I said.

"I remember that. I will say I didnt want you attacked. I just wanted to break the bond," he replied.

I nodded. "I ran away," I whispered.
