Fifty One

"Darling," he said noticing it shocked.

"Whats going on?" I asked.

"Premature labor," he said and picked me up and headed down to the medical wing.

"Premature labor," Caius said to the nurse.

"I'll get the doctor, have her lay down," she said.

Caius set me on the bed gurney that was in the room.

"I cant to this Caius. He has to be here," I said.

"He cant be honey. Im here, Demetri is here, Alec is here we are all here for you," he said holding onto my hand tightly.

"But its not the same Caius its not the same," I cried out.

"I know Izzy," he whispered, "I know,"

"I wont have the baby without him," I said.

"The baby is coming now," Caius said squeezing my hand.

The doctor came in. "Lets do a quick ultrasound," he said. "hen let me check how dialated you are," He said.

Caius lifted up my shirt and then I felt some pressure. "It hurts," I said wincing away from it.

""Okay the baby needs to come out now," The doctor said.

"Does she have time for a natural?" Caius asked.

"No she needs a csection," He said.

"Okay Izzy I have to take you into surgery," He said.

"I dont want to," I said.

"You dont have a choice, if we dont have this baby out soon she may not make it."

"Im scared," I whispered..

"I know, stay strong for me Izzy," Caius  squeezed my hand tightly before I  was wheeled away.

"Im sorry Izzy we dont have time for a epidural,"

""Then just put me out," I snapped.

"I was getting there," he said.

We got to a cold room.  It was an operating room by the looks of it.

"Okay Izzy its time," he said.

There was a poke in my arm and then a slight burning sensation then the next thing I knew I was asleep.

I groggily opened my eyes. "Whats going on?" I asked forgeting where I was at.

"You just had a csection, your baby is okay," the doctor said.

I closed my eyes again not able to stay awake.

There was nothing. Nothing was going through my head no dreams nothing.

I gasped awake sitting up. "Izzy," Caius jumped seeing me. "Youre safe. You had a complication from the anesthesia," he said.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Your heart started to give out," he said. "And you had a seizure," he took my hand. 

"The baby?" I asked.

"Shes fine," he said. "Want to see her?" He asked.

I nodded. Soon there was a baby girl in my arms. "Oh hi sweetie," I said.

"Did you have any names?" Caius asked.

"I probably did but I dont remember," I said truthfully. "She has his eyes and face," I touched her cheek holding her close to me.

Caius nodded and smiled some.

"Im horrible at names," I said.

Caius chuckled but nodded. "Lilly?" I asked "Lilith? Luna?" I asked.

"I like Lilith," he said.

"Hi Lilith," I said to her holding her close.

"I love her Caius," I said.

"So do I," he whispered

"I wish she could meet him," I said.

"Caius can we do something crazy," I whispered.

"Crazy how?" He raised his brow.

"I uh... wanna bury Peter somewhere close. Hes uh... still at the house. Its been a blur but I think I burried him. I may not of. I dont remember much from then until now," I said truthfully. "Its so blurry."

Caius hesitated. "Of course. I can have someone pick up the body and bring it here,"

"Really?" I asked.

"Yes," he said.

"Thank you," I whispered and moved to hug him. "I loved him Caius. We were going to get married," I whispered. "He loved me for me," I said.

"I know I watched from time to time." He said picking me up putting me in his lap.

"Why would someone do this," I asked looking up.

"I dont know Izzy. But Ill talk to Aro about it," he said.

"Caius what if he was the one to do it... I kinda told them about vampires," I whispered.

"Izzy," he groaned.

"I know I know but they promised they wouldn't tell," I said.

There was something on his face. "Spit it out Caius," I said.

"Someone either found out they know or it could be rogue vampires. And if someone found out they would..."

"Bring it to Aro... Caius what if he did it?" I looked up at him.

"We arent there yet. Lets not jump to conclusions," he said.

"Remember he killed my mom," I whispered.

Caius nodded. "I remember," he said. "Why dont you rest. I'll figure this out Izzy I promise," he said.

"Caius swear you will tell me if it was him. I can take it. I dont want any lies," I said

He hesitated.

"Promise," I looked up at him.

"I promise. Lay back, We will have a crib set up in a few hours for her," he said.

I felt Lilith being taken out of my arms.

"Rest," Caius said and kissed my head.
