two updates in one day! i edited these two back-to-back. it's a little bit mellow now, but don't worry, things are on the way :)

The primary school shame I felt being crammed behind a door was indescribable. I was resting peacefully in bed, Niall's bed to be more exact, when Claire repeatedly banged on the door. We had been in bed for hours, watching movies and whirling around conversations. We were going in circles in the best possible way, I felt like I was getting to know him so well, and I wasn't objecting.

That was, until Claire.

We didn't know it was her, but Niall jumped up in a hurry to figure it out. He told me to stay in the bedroom, I was grateful to be clothed in the event of an intruder of some kind. It was unlikely, though, considering hotel security and the hotel itself. It was prestigious, there wasn't a chance it was unsafe enough to have intruders running around.

The second he opened the door, the banging stopped and a familiar voice popped up. I kept my lower body under the sheets, about to stand up and go greet Claire until I remembered.

Shit.

She couldn't know. At least, not now.

"Where the fuck is your phone?" She hollered at the door of his hotel.

"I don't know. I've been asleep." He lied. There was a pause.

"You? Sleep? Yeah right." She walked in, and he closed the door. I wasn't in bed anymore, the hairs on my arms started to prick up in fear of making noise. Niall was clear, we were clear. She can't know.

"I don't know what you want me to tell 'ya."

"Just say you were wanking or something, Niall. I know you don't sleep that long. Ever."

I slapped my hand over my mouth, my jaw dropping open at her absurdity. She had the perfect timing, though. Not quite...wanking... but close enough.

"What do you want with my phone?"

"It's not your phone I want, it's to find where you get the fucking audacity." She spat back, I couldn't quite tell if it was playful or not. Their vibe was hard to read sometimes, and not seeing their faces or body language didn't help.

"Pardon?"

"You. That little fucking stunt you pulled yesterday at the concert. I've been on the phone since last night, and you don't even have the decency to check your goddamn messages."

Okay. Not playful.

"I've been resting. Releasing a song is tiring, y'know?" He joked back. I somehow got the feeling Claire wasn't in a joking mood. I shouldn't be here to hear this, but I couldn't move.

"Niall, I swear to god," She paused, I could literally hear the sigh from the next room over, "This shit is getting old. Why do you insist on doing this to me?"

"I'm not doing it to you. I'm doing these things for me."

There was a long pause after his words, I wish I could see their faces. The money I'd pay to see the look she was giving him.

"Is this because of Daphne? Are you trying to show off or something?"

"Oh, Claire don't be stupid." He stopped, and I was preparing myself to be hurt by his next words. Whatever he said, I wouldn't be offended. He was just trying to get Claire off his back, "I had a song, I wanted to release it. I don't have to be interested in someone to wanna do that."

Okay, not bad.

"Right, well, I don't believe you."

"Aw, you don't?" He whined childishly.
