part 2/2. hope u enjoy! sorry for the delay again. I'm back at uni but i am hopeful that updates won't take longer because of it, but we'll have to see. thankyou for your patience in advance :)
Afterparties for celebrities were a thing of a different universe. Every single person standing around was famous, each probably more than the last. I didn't know where to look, I felt like I was missing out simply because I only had two eyes to take it all in.
A sea of models dressed in nice, sexy dresses. Everyone was wearing cocktail attire, mostly blues and whites so they were still on-theme from the show they just finished. Lots of sparkles; I felt like my vision stretched them all when I started to drink.
"You should slow down." Niall cooed into my ear. It wasn't quiet, he couldn't even be quiet, otherwise I wouldn't hear him. There was barely a place to speak; we were in a penthouse apartment, one with several floors that overlooked the gorgeous, busy city of New York. I'd hate to imagine how much everything I was touching cost, but it had to slip off my mind like everything else lately. The buzz of alcohol made it easier.
"You shouldn't tell me what to do." I placed a dragging finger on his chest, trailing from the exposed skin to above his belly button where his shirt laid gently against his body, "You know, I'm your girlfriend now. You have to be nice to me."
"I'd say that stopping you from drinking is nice." He chuckled.
"Nope. I think it's rude." I slurred. We'd been at the party at least an hour already, and I'd already had so much to drink. Tiny finger foods and canapés were being passed around like this was a classy function, but no matter where you looked, the image was clear: these people were anything but classy when the curtains were drawn and the cameras were turned off.
"Rude?" Niall questioned.
"Yep. I think you should be drinking with me."
"Then how will I ever make sure you get home safely?" He responded sarcastically, pouring himself a drink into a glass. It was such a stark difference, using literal glasses instead of plastic cups. Decanters and wine chillers, buckets of ice, and assorted, cut-up lemon and limes littered the bar countertops in the main kitchen. Speakers blasted with bass-heavy music from every room in the penthouse, it was getting so crowded it was hard to find a millisecond to breathe. I decided drinking made it easier, so I kept drinking. It made the claustrophobic feeling subside and allowed me to lean into the expensive tastes for the evening.
"You'll do it anyway."
Niall finished pouring his drink, grabbing some ice with his bare hands and placing it into his glass with a substantial amount of whiskey. Straight whiskey. He turned to me when he finished, pulling me closer to his body by my side. I was covered now, the three of us changed outfits before coming here like everybody else. The party apparently started late to let people get changed, eat, and pregame harder than anything I'd ever seen. It was hard to imagine people were drinking before the party started considering the amount of alcohol I was currently watching being consumed. People weren't even hiding their drugs, either. It was a free-for-all, zero photographers allowed kind of event. I found it a bit unusual nobody questioned me, considering I'm technically a nobody, a ghost person. Then again, I was dressed as if I belonged here, I was drinking more than Niall, so I think naturally people just assumed I was meant to be here as much as everybody else.
"If I must." He groaned playfully, stroking my hips over the fabric of the dress I was wearing. It was so tightly corseted that the bodice made it hard to move in certain instances. It was a gorgeous dress, though. I swear every time Claire put clothes on my body I never felt better. She had a way with me, herself, and basically everyone. Her talents didn't just extend to other females, but Niall too, who now looked incredibly sexy. Not that there was ever a time he didn't look that way, but his outfit didn't hurt.
