this chapter is long and i'm sorry, but please read all of it because all of it is important. there will be one part for the prologue after this chapter, and after Luke's Letter (the 3rd part), the letters will start. if there are errors, i'm really sorry, i'm human.
------------------
january 12, 2013i made my way over to luke's house in my car. he hasn't talked to me in two days. so i was planning to surprise him by seeing him in person, bringing pizza with me.
as i stop at a red light, i can't help but think about luke and i. i am completely love with him and vice-versa. when we graduate high school, we are planning to get an apartment together and go to the same college. we already got accepted into NYU which is completely amazing! i always wanted to go stay in new york because i grew up here ever since i was nine, and i'm in love with it. i love everything about new york, but most of all, i love driving to random places with luke. we love going everywhere around the state. it's like exploring. we either drive until we find a random new place, or go see another place that we've been to before, but we love. like the old swing set in the woods, where carved our names. the little pond/lake in the woods that we stumbled upon in some city i don't know the name of. the same one with rocks that we always jump off of, into the water.
after thinking of multiple different things, i eventually pull into luke's house. i really hope he wasn't doing something super important, i didn't want to bother him. i go up, and knock on the door. he never answered. i knocked again and he never answered. i heard blink-182 faintly playing, and his parents' cars weren't in the driveway, meaning he was the only one home. i rolled my eyes while chuckling. he had his music on, so he didn't hear me.
i looked inside the spot where the hemmings held their spare key, and took out the key. i called his name as i entered the house, pizza still in my hand until i set it on his kitchen table, then made my way up to his room.
"luke!"
right before i opened his door, i heard him shuffling. when i actually opened it, it looked like he was shoving a notebook with lots of words on the pages into his dresser, really fast. almost like he didn't want me to see the letter. i shrugged it off, it was his privacy.
"hey el," he gave me a small smile, then he reached over and turned down his music.
"hey lucifer."
he rolled his eyes at this, which made me laugh.
"i know i surprised you, which i'm not very sorry about because you haven't made any contact with me in two days, but i brought you something."
he pulled me into a hug.
"i was actually gonna call you later and see if i could come over tonight, but now we don't have to worry about that since you're here now," he said, then kissed my forehead.
"oh."
"now miss summers, what is it that you have for me?"
"go look on the kitchen table and find out mister hemmings."
"ugh, you're gonna make me go all the way downstairs for it?"
"yes you lazy ass."
"hey! you're not any better." he argued.
"shut-up, you dork."
"but I'm your dork."
"aw, how cute!" i said sarcastically them fake smiled. "go get it already!"
we walked out of his room, walked down the stairs, and made it to the table where the pepperoni pizza was.
"aw el, you gave me my favorite thing in the world! besides you."
