"she was the type of person who'd explain how she was going to stab you in the front before she actually shoved the knife in... and you'd let her.
she'd probably even pass the knife to you so you can shove it in your own chest...and you would."

i t w a s as if the girl in front of Tom was not fully human. The way she floated in her long, ethereal gown. She reached a single pale hand out behind him, willing him to keep up. Tom eagerly grasped it in his own, knowing he would surely never be able to let go again.
As they raced down dark corridors, it was as if something had fully come over Tom. He was fixated by the creature in front of him, ready for her to lead him wherever she willed. She looked nothing short of a queen, and Hogwarts was her very own castle. Tom could see her seated in a great hall in place of the founders of the school. A great golden throne that stretched far above her head. He could see himself with her as her king. Nothing but a medieval fantasy, and yet it reminded him eerily of his own wishes. To rule this world and every other. Evelyn Maeve by his side.
It was mortifying to Tom just how much he could picture her beside him, how much he craved for it to come true. He looked at their joined hands and squeezed before letting go.
Evelyn slowed in her hurry as she turned a questioning stare his way. The way her lips twisted, her eyes roamed his body. He would do anything for her, and he hated it. Hated it more than he could possibly describe. Evelyn turned back around and continued up to the seventh-floor corridor.
The two of them arrived at the Room of Requirements. The short trek across the castle had felt like lifetimes. He hoped it had felt the same for the girl who never once left his thoughts. It was a relief when he finally stepped into the room itself. The rush of peace that rushed over him was welcoming. This place served its purpose well, to conceal them from the outside world. The break Tom so desperately needed.
The budding peace was short-lived as Evelyn released her hair from its tight bun. It cascaded down her back like the silk of her dress. Tom's only problem was that now he found himself very much alone with this girl who glowed in the moonlight. Otherworldly came to his mind again as he tracked her fluid movements. He had to take back his previous thoughts of Evelyn somehow only being a Queen because seeing her now sitting in a chair that could easily pass as a thrown Tom saw her for what she really was. A goddess among mortals. Even the moon kissed Evelyn's porcelain skin with her dewy rays.
"Do sit, Tom," Evelyn called as she gestured to his own chair beside her.
He sat as calmly as he could, his own thoughts of beratement bouncing around his head. He needed to remind himself of the distraction that she was. This girl wasn't a goddess; she was just a witch who liked to play dress up. Just a witch who meant nothing to him. But he was left speechless when she smiled over at him. Simple and small and teasing. Always like she knew something that he did not.
"Now that you have made your Horcrux," Evelyn started again as if knowing Tom had no words to speak. "You do know you will live longer than an average wizard."
"Well, yes, Evelyn, that is the point of a Horcrux," Tom said, not quite sure why this choice of topic had been brought up. "I imagine I may even longer than you."
