the next day served as another day of training, wolf had been worrying about calum, what if he ended up like dave? what if? she couldn't find a way to explain to calum what consequences he might face if he didn't make it.
they were at the park again, calum holding the gun with an eye closed, his lips pursed, pulling the trigger.
this time, he finally shot the target, leaving wolf smiling.
"thank heavens." wolf remarked, a smile still spreading over her face.
calum nodded proudly, he was proud of what he had done, of course. but he was more proud that he actually made wolf smile. he found something in her smile that he really adored, it made him melt.
"now, i want you to shoot those three birds." wolf crossed her arms across her chest. challenging the boy although she knew that he might not even do it because of his fear of killing birds, she didn't know story behind this but she tried to elaborate.
the words entered calum's brain, he knew he shouldn't be a coward no more. he couldn't be afraid of killing a goddamn bird because of the bird he saw as a child. he was destined to be an assassin. he couldn't fail his trainer again.
with a loud beating of his heart, he shot the birds on their chests, like he aimed for their hearts. he was swallowing when he did this.
"what the hell, calum." wolf blinked a couple times, her face confused as she looked at calum.
"what?" calum questioned, not knowing what wolf meant.
"what the hell happened to you?" wolf smiled again, which kind of brightened the whole area. her unique features lighted up too.
they left the park, chuckling and laughing with each other, and they were on the awful bridge again.
"okay, please-" wolf's brown eyes widened as she watched calum jumped, to her surprise, he landed safely on the bullet train.
she followed and crawled to him, a sneaky smile over her face.
"calum, what happened?"
"i, i trained hard yesterday." calum admitted, the train was moving too fast he had to touch his hair multiple times.
"you did?" wolf asked, her eyes locked with his.
"wolf. i don't get myself." calum said shyly, his eyes were still on wolf as he said those words.
"why, calum?" wolf asked, her face was completely puzzled.
"i like you. i really do." there was something about wolf that made him falling in love. he didn't know what to do with it but it had grown everyday.
wolf on the other side, was feeling the same too. she was speechless. she ran out of words and maybe that explained her face.
before she knew it, they were kissing, their lips were moving in a perfect sync.
slowly breaking the kiss, wolf cleared her throat, "why did you kiss me, asshole?"
calum let out a chuckle, "i like you and i don't know why. i have a girlfriend back in sydney but she's nothing compared to you, what i feel for her is nothing compared to you, wolf."
"are you sick?! you have a fucking girlfriend, calum." wolf demanded, looking down.
"i know it's not easy to understand but please give me a chance." calum pleaded, his eyes were shiny and hopeful.
