15. i think you're nuts

"calum, wake up!" wolf woke the boy up, she was even more surprised that the first thing that she thought of was calum and frosty.

"why?" the boy rolled and groaned.

wolf shook her head, looking at the clock. "today is your assassination day."

assassination day was like a graduation day for the newbies, everyone was getting ready and getting dressed for the this day.

"my what?" calum who was now sitting on the bed asked, he was topless because of the heat of last night. the warehouse was so warm compared to the outside temperature.

"get dressed, calum. they are waiting for you downstairs." wolf replied with a little smile as she carried the puppy and exited the door.

the whole warehouse was noisy, everyone was speaking and murmuring. luke and fox were there talking, niall was watching with his arms crossed.

everybody was dying to watch and talk about the event. wolf, on the other hand was completely aware that it was going to be a memorable one.

dean walked with his favorite leather jacket on, beside him was zayn who was keeping his cool look.

he started calling names.

"i feel so nervous, wolf." calum who was standing with his hands crossed spoke.

he was mindful of the fact that if he wasn't called, he'd be dead, dead as a meat.

"it's going to be fine, calum." wolf said as a comforting statement, she watched dean called newbies.

she knew that calum would be called, he completed his mission and he did well, however, there must be one runt that wouldn't be called. it was a part of the whole system. never was a time when all newbies were called.

wolf was reminded of her newbie batchmate, panda. she was this naive girl that didn't stop crying ever since she got on the warehouse, she was wolf's age and they were completely unlike.
she didn't accomplish anything and it was quite obvious that she wouldn't be called, and with one push of the dreadful button, she was gone. her eyes were showing fear, she died with fear.

"luke."
"congratulations."

everybody was called but calum and a newbie named kriza.
wolf's heart was beating so loud and so was calum's. they stared at each other with a little bit of care.

"calum."

the crowd cheered, leaving panther's mouth open.

"congratulations." dean moved his eyes from calum to the poor girl.

few people there like wolf, calum and luke closed their eyes when they heard dean pushed a button.

everyone remained quiet and speechless. everyone.

"i thought i was gonna be dead." calum rolled over his bunk bed.

at that intense moment, he felt like he was not going to be called, he closed his eyes with a heavy heart and then he heard his name.

"but you were called, calum." wolf sent a smile as she petted the little puppy who was on her bed.

"i know, i just felt really nervous and-"

"it's over, calum. rejoice."

calum looked over the girl who had helped him and served as his motivation to learn and grow.

"wolf, i got something to say."

"what is it, calum?" the girl moved her eyes to calum who was swallowing.

"i know it's only been three weeks but- you know what, i think you made me feel safe, you made me feel like shit. but what matters is, i think that when you smile, it lights up everyone's day. and i think i-"

"i think you're nuts." wolf intervened with a little laugh, "just shitting, go on continue."

"i think i, i think i love you."
