Chapter Four: Distance.
The next following days, Summer admired the boy with sad amber eyes from a long distance. She felt like no matter how hard she tried, it was like she was being pulled towards him with an invisible string and whenever Summer was around him, she felt her hands shake and her knees go weak. She didn't like that the boy had this kind of power over her.
He was always sitting alone during lunch. Summer wanted to be his friend, but she was too shy. She never had a friend and didn't want the boy to think she was queer. No, she would just admire him from a long distance.
