38. Haseena's Life in danger

The Alpha team broke down the doors blazing in with their guns trained at the men. The guards stationed outside took preventive measures while the other officers rushed in and rescued the kids.

Amar and a team kicked off towards the fleeing Rashim whilst Anubhav and KS rushed towards Haseena, their eyes wavering in concern. Anubhav untied her hands and legs as KS knelt near her, shaking Haseena vehemently. Tears streaked her face, her hands lightly caressing Haseena's chin.

"Madam Sir!" she yelled.

There was no response. Anubhav checked her pulse, exhaling a sigh of relief as his fingers pressed on a faint pulse. He quickly ripped out a piece of clothing and wound it tightly around her abdomen, staunching the rushing blood flow as he carried Haseena in her arms, her lifeless body shaking with each step. KS followed behind him, her legs betraying her body as they loaded her into the ambulance.

Anubhav and KS settled next to Haseena whose body was attached with wires. They held onto each other, squeezing and embracing their warmth, their hearts unitedly beating in concern for Haseena.

Anubhav looked at her, the lifeless limp figure covered in blood. He desperately controlled his tears holding onto his sister's hand for support. Haseena Ji, he screamed in silence. You can't leave me. He whispered silently. His hand unconsciously wrapped around Haseena, tightening his hold on her. Nothing will happen to you, Haseena Ji. Nothing. He murmured to himself, gathering all his strength to remain composed.

KS broke down hugging her brother, her mind churning with the thoughts of her failure. She had once again failed to save her madam sir. She balled her fists at her side, her knuckles whitening with the impact. She glanced at Haseena, her vulnerable and limp state sending shivers down her spine. She got up and knelt next to her, holding her hand, whispering lunatic ramblings, hoping to rekindle Haseena's heart.

At the hospital, Haseena was immediately rushed to the emergency room as Anubhav and KS lingered outside, their uniforms drenched in blood. KS dropped to the floor, her hands clasped tightly in prayer, her shoulders sagging beneath the weight.

Anubhav sat, his weight creaking the metal chairs as he stared at the operating room. Tears blurred his vision, memories overwhelming his mind. He breathed in the fragrance of Haseena, her warmth enveloping him even from a distance.

He trailed back to the past, his brief moments with Haseena brushing in the corners of his mind. Her dimpled smile and her loosened hair flashed into his eyes, brimming back stinging tears as he collided hard with reality. He wiped his eyes and stood up, leaning against the wall. His eyes staring at the room as if willing it to magically open.

Hours passed as Anubhav and KS paced around the waiting room, desperately attempting to compose themselves. Finally, after an eternity, the room opened and the doctor walked outside, hanging his stethoscope around his neck. Anubhav and KS rushed towards him, their eyes laced with concern.

"Doctor, how is she?" Anubhav asked, his hands firmly on the doctor's arm.

"Doctor, she's fine right?" KS asked, her voice gulping.

"Calm down. She's out of danger but...." His voice trailed off, the hardened expressions of Anubhav and KS panicking. "She has been tortured a lot. It will take time to heal her wounds. You must make sure that she recovers completely. Patience is a must in times like these. "

"Can we meet her doctor?"

"She's still unconsciousness. You can meet her when she is shifted to the normal ward."
