Hawk's Eye

Chapter 28

Tony passed Katerina and waved to her with a slight smile before he went into the room with his brother. He cut right to the chase.

"I'm here to relax during spring break with my girlfriend, please do not ruin that for me," Tony said. Brian shrugged and sat on the edge of the bed.

"I'm don't want to ruin anything for you, but how well do you really know that girl? Does she tell you everything?" Brian asked. Tony rolled his eyes.

"Of course she tells me everything." Tony replied. Brian raised an eyebrow at him. Tony rolled his eyes. "Why? Just say it Brian," Tony sighed.

"You're okay with her having a kid?" Brian asked surprised. Tony nodded.

"You don't know anything about her or Carter for that matter. It's not her fault," Tony defended. Brian watched him curiously.

"Don't be so naïve Tony. It's kind of a two person job," Brian rolled his eyes. Tony took a step closer to him.

"You don't know anything, so don't try to pretend like you do," Tony replied. Brian's jaw dropped at the intensity of Tony's tone. Tony only exhaled. "I don't know how you figured that out or what you think about it, but don't judge her. She's been through a lot more than you think. The last thing she needs is someone from my family attacking her. I really really love her, and I want to be with her for a really long time. I don't need you messing that up for me. You got what you wanted. You have Katerina, Henry, Elliot, and so much more. Don't turn this into another Fiona incident. Stay away from her. I mean it Brian." Tony turned on his heels and left. When it came to his brother, he could never forgive him. Tony rejoined Kyndall in the west wing. He smiled at her softly as he saw her lying on the bed. Kyndall's eyes were relaxed and she was breathing evenly. Tony kissed her forehead gently, and laid down beside her. Kyndall stirred slightly and looked over to Tony. He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her again.

"It's just me; go back to sleep," he whispered. Kyndall nodded sleepily and snuggled closer to him.

"Okay," she muttered. Tony sighed and closed his eyes as well. He wasn't going to let his brother mess up his life again.

Tony woke with a start. He was having a nightmare. He checked over to his right. Kyndall was still there. He breathed a sigh of relief. He thought she was gone... just like Fiona. No matter how much he tried, he couldn't forgive Brian. Brian knew how much Tony loved her and he had to get in the way. Now he would never see her ever again. Brian just had to try and talk with her. Tony could still remember exactly what happened.

Tony dated Fiona for about a year when he was seventeen after he came back from his gymnastics injury. Tony didn't tell any of his family because she was a bit on the wild side, but somehow Brian found out. He picked her up from school one day to talk to her. He wasn't exactly sober when he did it either. The next thing Tony knew, he's being called to the hospital because his brother's been in a car crash. Tony looked in on Brian. He seemed fine; he only had a mild concussion and a few scratches. Tony was about to take him home when the doctor gave him the news. Fiona flew through the window and died on the site of the crash. They tried to revive her, but she was gone. Tony hadn't seen his brother since. He couldn't bring it upon himself to do it. Brian never even said he was sorry. Katerina was worried about him, naturally, but he never even mentioned that he killed a girl. Tony had to tell her parents what happened. Everyone started to think that he did it. Finally, he headed off to college.

Kyndall stirred and blinked her eyes open. She stretched and yawned. Kyndall sat up and touched Tony's back gently.

"Tony, are you okay?" she asked. She looked over to the clock; it was three in the morning. Tony hesitantly nodded.
