Ryder met Kyndall in front as he always did. He smiled and hugged her tightly. Pulling away, he saw a dark purple bruise on her neck. His smile widened and he touched the spot gently. She rolled her eyes and moved her hair to cover the mark.
"Make it obvious, why don't you," she said sarcastically. He laughed and resisted the urge to kiss her adorably pouting lips.
"You left a few battle scares on my back too," he joked. She shushed him and laughed.
"But yours isn't where everyone can see. I doubt anyone will ever even know that it's there," she said. He shrugged.
"And who's fault was that?" he joked. Kyndall let a smile slowly spread across her face. They were laughing as they walked onto Remington's courtyard. Brett spotted them and walked over to talk to Kyndall. Kyndall smiled at her.
"Hi Dolly," Brett smiled.
"Hi yourself," Kyndall said happily. "Look, I'm sorry for not going to your dinner, but we will go, okay?" Kyndall smiled. The wind blew her hair back from around her shoulders. Brett's eyes immediately spotted the hickey. She looked between Ryder and Kyndall confused.
"You two are dating?" Brett asked quietly. Brett felt a shock dart up her spin. She kept her face emotionless and tried not to cringe. Kyndall hesitated before she tried to play it off.
"What makes you think that," Kyndall smiled nervously. Brett looked to the dark bruise again. Her chest squeezed tightly as she looked at the evident bruise before she flicked her eyes back up to Kyndall's green ones.
"Your neck," Brett said simply. Kyndall tried to casually cover her neck back as she blushed.
"Um, well... Yes, but I didn't want to say anything because of you," Kyndall admitted. Brett looked at her confused.
"What do you mean 'because of me?' What do I have to do with anything?" Brett asked genuinely confused. Kyndall sighed.
"Because he was yours first and I know if it was me, I would take a while to finally be okay with it. I didn't want you to think I was trying to rub it in your face or something because I know you already hate me," Kyndall explained.
"Oh," was all Brett could say. She was stunned that Kyndall was trying not to hurt her feelings. Even though they were hurt, she was surprisingly grateful for Kyndall. She really wanted to be friends with her now. Brett cleared her throat and smiled. "It's whatever, I don't care. So are you two going to the dance together?" Brett smiled. Ryder looked at her shocked while Kyndall smiled and nodded proudly.
"Yeah, can you believe it's only in three days?" Kyndall smiled. "Oh, that reminds me, our dinner is tomorrow night." Kyndall said. Brett smiled and nodded.
"I guess I'll... see you around then," Brett smiled. Kyndall waved before she started going into the school with Ryder following close behind. The Barbies looked at Brett silently.
I spy with my Hawk eye, a silent truce. Dark Beauty was spotted with a hickey left by Prince Charming. Queen B noticed it too. We were expecting a cat fight, but instead, we got friendly smiles. Maybe we stepped into a parallel universe, because the Queen B we know would've throw down right then and there. She would not have cared that Dark Beauty has a broken arm. We would have seen a hurt and bruised Dark Beauty crying on Prince Charming's shoulder, but the only bruise involved in this scene was the one of Dark Beauty's neck. Is Queen B actually going soft? Only time will tell, Hawk.
At Kyndall's locker, Ryder leaned down and kissed her deeply, pulling her into him. Kyndall laughed and pushed him back gently. She smiled.
"No more of Brett's feelings. I can kiss you whenever I want now," Ryder smiled. Kyndall laughed and nodded before she frowned.
