Chapter 18 the legion

A few days after I beat Kura, I decided to look at the guild that was mentioned. When I traveled there I actually met Kaze on the road to the castle. We decided to travel together like old times. The castle wasn't as much of a castle as it was like a tower surrounded by a fortress. A large tower stood in the center with giant walls around it with ballistas, catapults, and many soldiers on them.

"I thought he said it was a castle? So everything we know about this whole guild is like based on a lie, right from the start" Kaze said as he saw the tower.

"He did say castle, so I guess your right"

As we got closer to the gates they opened for us. A soldier wearing Crimson armor approached us and said, "the king requested to speak with you two personally. He'll be waiting for you at the top tower floor"

"There is a king? Is he like king of the whole game?" Kaze said very surprised.
"No, probably just in charge of the guild"
"Oh, that makes more sense."

I walked to the tower, the first floor had a bunch of large tables with food on them and a lot of people seemed to be eating.

Rather than stairs to change floors you stood on a small glowing circular symbol that was a pale greenish color and teleported you to the floor that you wanted to go to. When I activated it everything went dark, but then a green light seemed to glow very brightly and as it faded I could see and I was in a different room. The room was large and had a sort of table thing, only the middle of it was hollow like a person could stand there. There was also a throne type chair at the end of the table.

There was a guy sitting in the throne wearing bright silver armor with lots of spikes on it and he had a sword leaning against the chair.
The name above his head read as Tavor

Kaze approached the guy and said "You wanted to see us?"

Tavor, who was looking at the ground, got up and looked up at Kaze and then stood.
"Yes I wanted to speak to both of you"

Kaze laughed and said, "you better make this good. Only loser join guilds. Like people who aren't aren't strong enough to fend for themselves"

Tavor laughed slightly and said, "well that is your opinion and if you don't want to hear what I have to say your free to leave"
I stepped forward, "I would like to hear what you have to say"

"Well I'm glad you'll hear me out. Firstly want to say that I didn't ask you to come here to make you a mere foot soldier. I brought you here because I've been watching your progress in the arena and think you both have great potential. So much so that I'm prepared to offer you a higher up position at one of my military divisions. If you accept the you'll have partial command of the army below you and you'll answer only to your superiors which is mainly only me and one other, a the general who would be above you. Before I say anymore I need to know that you accept the position and for you to due a small mission for me."

'Why not? It's not as if I have anything more important to do.'

"Ok"

"I'm glad to see your so eager, one of my assassins has been captured and is being held prisoner. I'd like you to free her, if you do the position and more will be yours"
After he said that a tab appeared saying that the area was added to my map.

"Then I'll be back shortly", and I walked outside of the tower Kaze followed.

"Think you can really trust this guy?", Kaze said as soon as we were outside.
"I'm not sure yet"
"What if this rescue mission thing is a trap?"
"Then I disarm the trap and come back for vengeance"
"We" Kaze said abruptly.
"We?"
"Yes, WE set off the trap then WE come back for vengance"
"Oh, your coming with me?"
"Of course, everyone knows that all your success is due to your team partner"
I just sighed and laughed at the same time.
One of the tabs I get when master Trian sends me a message appeared. It said "I have something for you. Come by and get it when your not busy."
