chapter 33 A new target

I looked down at Aaron. I hadn't eaten his heart like I told him I would, but chances were it would be poisonous anyways.

I shifted back into my normal form and turned to see lunar open the barrier as Lynch ran in. He looked down at Aaron and laughed, "he got luckily. It's a better fate then he'd have gotten against me."

"Is the battle over outside? We should probably join back in if it isn't."

Lunar responded, "not yet. You should come out and announce that Aaron is dead, and tell everyone the truth."

"I don't want to have to deal with all that, but I guess it's what I have to do"

I walked out onto a balcony ,and as I did Lunar casted a spell that made my voice louder so that it sounded like I was speaking through a microphone with giant speakers.

I wasn't sure what to say, so I just spoke plainly. I first shouted that Aaron was dead. That got everyone's attention and stopped the fighting. Second, I told the story about how he killed everyone and just framed me. I went on telling how I did what I thought was right. Then I ran out of things to say, so I let lunar and lynch deal with what ever else they thought they should do.

As the fighting stopped and everything was being sorted out, I just walked into an empty area and sat in a corner. I didn't really have anything else to say and it seemed like everything was taken care of. I sat there and rested for what seemed like a few hours.

Lynch walked up to me and spoke, "well, everyone is conversing on who should be the new leader. I personally think I should, but others seem to feel they should, and many think you should."

"Really?"

"Yeah, they put it to a vote and.. well... you won. They want to see you."

"Okay then."

I stood up and walked to where everyone was waiting. They were at a giant table and asked me to sit in the empty chair.

Lynch was the first to speak up, "well we've gotten past who is the leader, so the new question is what do we do now that we have one?"

Everyone seemed to just look at me, curious of what I was going to say.

I didn't know what to do next.
There was no clear enemy to fight. There was no target in sight.
No goal that I could aim to reach.
A thought reached my mind, it's over.

"We find a way to end this game. For good. We find the way out. First, gather information and do whatever it takes to find out how we end this."

Everyone looked around murmuring until Ken yelled out, "HEY!!! Your leader has spoken! GET TO WORK!!!"

Everyone seemed to just kind of get up and scatter to the wind. Ken laughed, "with all our resources at work we'll have the answers in no time".

"I hope you are right."

With everyone working, there was nothing left for me to do. I noticed it was kind of late, and I was tired.

"I'm going to go rest. I guess I'll see you guys again tomorrow."

They all said their generic goodbyes, so I didn't really pay attention to what they were saying. All I wanted was this day to end ,and hopefully I would get a fresh start tomorrow.

Some time later

Sometime in what seemed like the middle of the night I woke up, but I stayed still as if I was asleep. I could tell there was a person in the room but I didn't move, I only watched them. They took a step forward and I quickly rolled out of bed and equipped my claws as the lights suddenly clicked on and illuminated the room.

The figure was hidden under a black cloak that hid all of their features.

I stared at the person, completely on edge, "who are you!? Why are you in here?! Do you want to die!?"

The cloaked figure backed away, "easy now.. I don't desire to fight you. Only to seek a moment of your time."

"You have it.."

"It has come to our attention that you are finding the way to end this world. We wish to help you succeed."

"Who is we?"

"People anonymous.. we have brought to you gifts. You will need them to succeed. I shall leave them here for you. The way to exit the game is to forge a rune. It is divided into four pieces. You should start your search at a place called Necropolis. Do not worry, you will not hear from us again."

With that the figure just vanished.

I looked around before walking to wear the figure was standing before it vanished. It left behind a small bag of items. Two in particular stood out. The first were the gauntlets that Stratos used. The second was the armlets that satsujin used.

I looked at them carefully before equipping them both. When I put on satsujin's armlets I was granted a huge addition to my spells.
They were the spells that satsujin had absorbed. There was eternal bind and eternal summon which I remember as being the summoner spells. However, he had yet to cast eternal bind on anything, meaning I could bind something to me. Two more were Electopalypse, and Black lighting. Each of them did extremely high damage, but Electropalypse did much more damage than Black lighting and had a huge area of effect. There were a few more spells like infernado, which summoned a huge tornado of lava, hydrochamber, which surrounded the target in a sphere of water that slowly drowned them, and Razorwind, which made a huge wave of wind that shredded anyone caught in it like millions of razors were flying into them. The most powerful of them all was called Weapon genesis, it caused a huge amount of weapons, each with a different maxed out elemental effect to crash into the target from all sides.
Also in the bag was a map showing the location of the place that he mentioned, called Necropolis , along with a live of the rune he mentioned.

I realized that it was actually early morning, so decided to use the time to practice with the gauntlets. The tower I had stayed at was equipped with a training room that would spawn random enemies. The enemies would vanish upon the user reaching ten percent health, or if they hit a strike that would have killed the user.

It seemed like a good place to train with the new weapons. As I walked in a small menu appeared with a lot of available creatures I decided to go with a giant.

Just as I selected it, a giant with a hammer appeared.

It suddenly jumped forward and smashed the hammer downward at me. I tested the ice section by making a huge shield that actually blocked it. Then countered by my making a huge whip of fire and lashed it at his face. He stumbled backwards from the hit, so I ran forward and made two blades that sliced open its ankles as I ran past them, the as I span around made another whip of fire and a spear of ice. I wrapped the fire whip around his neck and then pulled, causing him to fall backwards and towards me. I then held up the spear so that it pierced its skull. I stepped back and pulled up the menu again. This time I selected dragon, the most powerful thing on the list, but made it so that the room was full of them. After they appeared I decided to try out Electropalypse.

Suddenly what seemed like millions of black lighting bolts appeared throughout the room. They each shot forward causing huge explosions and damage so that in only a few seconds every dragon in the room was destroyed. It amazed me that it didn't even take the full power of the attack to destroy them, as only a few bolts had smashed into the dragons when they died. The remaining majority of the lighting was just overkill.

"With this kind of power, is there anything left that could really stop me?"
