"It's just a theory. A man who once risked his life for archeology shed light on a certain ancient kingdom. And the manufacture of machinery which has been discovered at a certain site... coincides with the reign of that kingdom," Shaka said. He proceeded to explain that Ohana, Robin's birthplace, had a buster call placed on it because they discovered the history of this futuristic island of the past. "The 100-year void... contains the history of the conflict between the advanced kingdom and the twenty kingdoms. The twenty kingdoms who won the battle later founded the World Government and created the world as we know it. And in order to prevent anyone from inheriting that ancient kingdom's ideology, they erased it completely from history."
"I can't believe it!" Nami gasped.
"Eh? EH?! Is that true?!" Usopp followed.
"Whoaaa! What an exciting story!" Franky exclaimed, contrasting the other two.
"Yea, it's definitely exciting..." I trailed off, my eyebrows raised. This is just insane. (When I read this in the manga my mind was blown)
"It's too grand of a story for me to even comprehend..." Sanji mumbled. Then he widened his eyes. "Wait a minute Vegapunk! If Ohara received a Buster Call because of that, that means people who learn about it..."
"Yeah. They'll be killed," Shaka nodded. My jaw hit the floor.
Usopp screamed in despair immediately. Sanji nearly busted a vein as he yelled, "Hey! We didn't even ask! Why did you tell us about it!"
"Damn! I've heard it! I've heard it so... LET'S JUST FORGET!" Usopp did a whole back bend to repeatedly smash his head into the ground. He kept screaming that he didn't know anything, and he would forget through this refined method.
I started clapping because I'd never seen anybody contain so much core strength in my life. How is he doing that? I know our feet are stuck, but still. "Calm down a little. I said it was just a theory," the Vegapunk variant hummed. How the hell is that supposed to calm us down? He turned his attention back to Robin. "Now, Nico Robin. If Ohara was destroyed because of this theory, don't you think that means the government has admitted it to be true?"
"Vegapunk... Who's side are you on anyway?" Robin asked. Looks like she doesn't want to fully answer until she knows he's not going to turn on us. "The scholars of Ohara continued to study the valuable materials and made a theory... with a position as high as yours, did the government tell you?"
"No, they didn't tell me anything," he answered. "The rule still stands. Even if I'm affiliated with the government, I'll be killed if I mention it."
Usopp stopped slamming his head into the ground and stood up. "Then I don't wanna know!" he screamed. "This is like torture!"
I smacked him over the head since I could reach him. "This isn't the time! You've already heard it, plus, we've BEEN in conflict with the government," I sighed. He slumped over at that. He's literally the one who shot the government flag when we got Robin.
Robin piped back up, "They how did you find out about the kingdom?! The books that Ohara acquired from all over the world must be..."
Shaka responded to this question in kind. He went on to explain how he knew the archeologist that began the historical digging. Vegapunk apparently went to lay flowers on the island for the guy. That was when he discovered all the books that the researchers threw into a lake at the center of the island to conserve them.
Robin sheded a couple tears before saying, "Vegapunk. Just as you guessed, Ohara discovered the existence of that kingdom. But... where are the books that were in the lake now?"
