"Luffy, did anything happen on your end?" I asked as he flew back into the main hallway.

He shook his head, "No, nothing. Where is Old Man Apple? We've been searching so long!"

"Maybe Bonnie chased him into a corner... you did say she was trying to get information out of him," I sighed.

Chopper came flying in from another hallway. "He's not there either! Where could he be?!" he shouted as he flew over to us.

"That's a really good question. I thought by now we'd have at least a little bit of a clue where he is..." I dragged a hand down my face and looked down the rest of the main hall. Not many more options left. I hovered over to the next corridor, "I'll head down this one."

Chopper saluted me and pointed down another one, "I'll go this way, then!"

Luffy flew over to me and grinned, "I'll go with you! Chopper took the last one."

I nodded and started flying. We checked multiple rooms, opened a million doors, flew through broken bits of the building. Nothing. We turned back to meet back up with Chopper.

"(Y/n)!" Luffy shouted from behind me. I whipped around, thinking he found a clue. "Watch this!"

My captain ran up a ramp made of rubble. I watched as he jumped off and did a couple front flips with the help of his boots. I was genuinely impressed until I saw his heels smash into the floor. He tumbled forward and hit a wall. I couldn't help the laugh that erupted from me.

"I think they're broken..." Luffy whined.

I flew over to him and wiped a tear from my eye. "Ahh, you seriously crack me up. Are you sure they're busted?"

He nodded and demonstrated how they didn't activate at all when he stood up. "There's no way I can pay for this," he sighed.

"You've gotta be more careful. Nice things break pretty easily for some reason," I shrugged.

"Can I ride on your back?" he asked as he walked closer to me.

"Hmm..." I rubbed my chin and looked at him. He had his hands clasped together and his eyes big with hope. I laughed again. "Ok, fine, but you won't be on my back."

"Then how-" I picked him up from under his arms and let the rest of him dangle. "Won't your arms get tired?" he asked as I started flying through the hall again. It's just funnier this way, honestly.

"No, I think this'll be fine," I replied. "Make sure to keep a look out and I'll focus on not dropping you."

He nodded and put his hands around his eyes like binoculars, "Ok! I'll keep watch." There was a moment of silence before he said, "... Let's not say anything about the shoes... maybe they won't notice..."

"What?! You mean Vegapunk is missing? Where did he go?!" Usopp questioned. "Did you look carefully? He must be here, right? In the lab!"

"Yea! We looked everywhere!" Luffy said, falling back on the couch beside me.

"Did you really?" Usopp asked again.

Chopper nodded, "Yes! He broke his flying function, so he was running the whole time! (Y/n) tried to carry him but her boots almost exploded from carrying the extra weight for so long!"

"Don't tell them that! I don't have the allowance to pay for it!!" Luffy yelled at him. 

I waved my hand, "Either way, we couldn't find Vegapunk or Bonney. It's like they disappeared."
