Lev Leatherfoot was sleeping peacefully in his designated room next to Meo. The other buck turning and putting a paw in Lev's face as he sleeps without any issue in this nameless warren far from what they called home.
He was the first Leatherfoot spared and thankfully this place seemed to be nicer than it first appeared. They were kind enough to set him up away from any traces of Hellhound so he wasn't sneezing his brains out at the very least. While it wasn't the best bed he has ever had, the bed of plant matter wasn't too uncomfortable.
'Even if Leatherfoot's beds are great they are based on rank and pedigree. Someone like me only got the basic linens and a wooden bed frame.' He sighs and moves the other's hand away from his face. 'That's only when I'm actually there though. Most of the time I am outside of the warren performing my duties all the time.' Frowning he sighs heavily when Meo rolls in his sleep and takes the sheet of cloth serving as their blanket with him. 'Why did I have to bunk with this guy?'
The door to their room opens and Lev freezes up. Convinced that the nameless warren had no further need of them and were planning on killing them in their sleep. Brief flashbacks send him back into the hallway where a fellow warrenmember was debating on killing him before a white limb broke through the ceiling and lifted the warrior. Slamming his face against the roof of the tunnel until he was knocked unconscious.
Jack steps through the door and locks eyes with him for a moment. "I need Meo for a bit." He raises an eyebrow at the hyperventilating buck before gently speaking up. "Please calm down, you're not in any danger and you're not one of the ones I wanted to take with me. One sneeze and we would be dead." He jokes, hoping to alleviate the panic in the former enemy.
It does... help? Slightly. He isn't about to have a panic attack anymore.
The scout calms his breathing before looking at the sleeping buck next to him in their shared sleeping place. He was still out like a light. Curled up in the blanket and snoring softly.
"Pft. Cute." Jack pats the buck's head a bit as Lev looks at him with a bit of shock. "Hey. Hey Meo. Meo, we are going on an adventure and I need someone of your skillset." He shakes the buck until he slowly blinks awake.
"Hm?"
"Up and at em. Need you for a bit."
Slowly dragging the groggy buck behind him, Jack navigates the maze of tunnels that he calls home.
As it turns out, the sleepy Meo has been dragged into the chamber that serves as the waiting area for when Clay and Jullia need to talk with small groups. Meo had an idea as to what was happening but was still a bit too sleepy to figure it out. He normally slept until midway between sunrise and noon so while this wasn't all that earlier than usual for him to wake up it still was a bit jarring to be dragged out of bed by someone.
"Okay, wait right here for me. I need to get the warren heads."
Meo yawns and starts to go to sleep again, this time on the floor of the room that possessed a fur rug and a couple of "seats" made of folded up cloth instead of a bed of plants and cloth. Releasing a deep sigh he begins to snore softly again.
Peaking open his eyes he comes to a realization. "Wait." He yawns and props himself up on his elbow. "Why didn't I wake up to Jack's presence? He should have shocked me awake just from-"
A massive crash can be heard from further down the warren. Meo was definitely awake now! He doesn't even get halfway to his feet before one of the doors to the room bursts open and Jack flints inside with a large lump on his head. The head buck of the warren easily catching up and snagging him by his scruff as the matriarch enters behind them.
