Hold The Gate

The white buck dashes through the panicking encampment while using his skills to dodge the guards and noncombatants alike. If he thought he could do so he would kill a weaker guard who insisted on fighting him but his goal was clear.

"What is the holdup! We have to get out of here you idiots!" One of the more well dressed harefolk tries to shove one of the guards out of the way. The group he was with looking at him like he is mad.

They had some cover with the tent placements near this gate but given the circumstance it was just as likely to harbor enemies as it was to shield them from view. The north gate doesn't have a heavy guard presence with the commotion happening in the east gate.

"What of the baroness?!" One of the other "elite" Leatherfoot members asks while looking around. "If she finds out we left to leave her encampment to a raid then she will-"

"She would only be able to punish us if she manages to find a sucker to mate with her. Even if she did she would have to fight the other barons and baroness's for the right to lead the family." The male dressed in gambeson and chainmail starts to shove the gate door open while speaking. Failing to hear the sharp snap above him, he is grabbed and thrown out of the way of the gate by a nameless guard.

"The rut are you-?!" His mouth shuts as he watches a section of the gate's frame fall. Crushing the guard and blocking the massive door in question. He rolls his eyes and chitters. "You two, move the scat out of the way and open the doors. Keep an eye above us."

As the two members of the group follow his orders one of the other elites start to begin an argument again. All of it falls out of Jack's earshot as he digs through one of the tents for something more substantial to block the gate doors. Because they didn't just walk through the massive gates then their strength might not be high enough to do so. Although...

'I have no idea just how high up the ladder Elite are considered. Though at the same time if they were particularly high level in general they would have found me. It is the warrior and scout that have my attention and caution.' Jack grabs a pair of lumber beams used to help support the more permanent structures that happened to be lying in a nearby tent. More than likely a general storage tent if you go off of the random assortment of the items inside. Spare tools, cooking utensils, lumber, etc.

When he returned to the gate he found the veteran had perished. The other members of the small group that were attempting to retreat were missing but the door was still shut. Quickly jamming both beams into the gaps beneath the individual doors and the ground. Hammering it in with his fists he keeps an eye out for whatever could have killed the elite and chased off the others. At the same time though he couldn't help but notice the dead leoporcitae's chest was knocked inwards. Meaning something big hit him with incredible force. Hard enough to break every rib he had and yet... he couldn't see anything that could have done it. There was no weapons, blood, or tracks that would have left a trace and that was what bothered Jack the most.

"I should be getting back..." Even if his strength was lackluster compared to their own, the young buck didn't want to be too far from his matriarch and patriarch. He had lost enough family.

The remainder of the battle was a mess of madness and gore. Yet that seemed to be how the members of their warren thrived. There were only eight decently strong members of Leatherfoot around here but they were a far cry from the warrior Clay fought in the scout encampment.

After the fourth elite member fell the rest sounded a retreat. Evidently the elites that Jack had encountered weren't among the dead or those that retreated from what they could tell... Either way the results are the same, the Leatherfoot members were forced to abandon the large encampment but not before losing 233 members of their own. Most warriors and fighting members were captured and then promptly dispatched by Jack or were noncombatants. Those that got away were either deserters or some of the high ranking members that brought their personal guard.

"I think that went rather well."

Clay walks up to Jack and ruffles the fur on his head. "There we go. All together and accounted for." The patriarch looks back out to the noncombatants and sighs before projecting his voice.

"Everyone who has surrendered or was uninvolved in the battle, I give you three options. Die for the warren that abandoned you-" Clay points at one of the dead elites. "-, run back to them, or disown your warren and join our own like other Leatherfoot." He points at Meo who gets a few hopeful looks as well as many stink eye's and spiteful spits.

Allowing his mother and father to handle things from here, Jack walks away from the main group.

"Hey white coat." Jack turns to face Farra. The abrasive hare looking away from him while Cellicia nudges her forward. "Sorry... about before." She looks away with her ears burning and slowly falling against her back.

"Don't worry about it. Also please call me Jack, even if "white coat" is a nice nickname." He smirks. "Besides, the [Cannibal] trait can affect anyone of my species. [Shephard's Fangs] is muting it a bit for those who accept me or are related to me though so it's not entirely your fault."

"I'm Farra..." She huffs. "Though I'm sure you already know with your ears around the warren." The well built doe taps her foot a bit as her ears rise a bit. Some of the wind coming back into her sails.

Jack tilts his head. "Honestly with how loud you two can discuss things or argue with other warren members I would be deaf NOT to know your name."

She huffs as Cellicia chuckles a bit. Just then Jack gets a notification that makes him freeze up.
