Preperations

Surprisingly, the Halloween party came extremely quick. One day I'm being told about it, and then seemingly the next there are lights everywhere and M'gann is in the kitchen making treats and punch. And since I ran out of time to plan an elaborate and cool costume, I decided to just go as a ninja, because, why not? Plus, Walmart sells them for barely a dime. So there I was, sitting on the couch, playing video games with Robin and Wally in my basic black ninja suit.

Robin's costume was amazing and incredibly life like. He had indeed decided to be a vampire, and he wore a dress suit of sorts that was black and red. The Boy Wonder also had a black and red cape, along with expensive looking fangs. Wally had opted to be something funny, so he was some character named Speedy Gonzales.

"Who's that?" I asked him when I saw his sombrero, red bandanna, and white shirt and pants.

"Mexican mouse who can run fast," Robin said choppily, totally engrossed in his game.

"Trust me, it'll be hilarious," Wally grinned, trying to reassure me when he saw the confusion on my face. "Why are you a ninja?"

"I don't know," I shrugged nonchalantly.

"Hey, guys!" M'gann called from behind us, in the kitchen. "Can you help out a bit?"

"Sure," I called back, getting up from the couch. Wally sighed and paused his video game. The speedster and the Boy Wonder got up from the couch with me.

"We call decorations!" Wally shouted, sprinting out of the room. Robin sighed and ran after him, trying to make sure that the redhead didn't break anything. I walked over to M'gann, deciding to help her cook and whatnot.

"Can you mix this?" she asked, handing me a bowl of cookie mix. I nodded and started stirring it sloppily since I have no clue how to cook. The Martian opened her mouth to probably correct me, but then closed it, likely because she didn't want to be rude.

"So," I tried making conversation, "What are you gonna be for the party?"

"Oh, I'm going as a ghost," she replied excitedly. Currently, she wasn't in costume, but she informed me that she was just going to morph her appearance so she would look like a ghost.

"Cool," I commented, then went back to messing up the cookie batter. We ended up making somewhere around a thousand cookies. The martian's reasoning was that if the Flash ate like Wally did, then we needed to prepare. Once we were done cooking, I went out into the main room of the mountain to check out how the boys were doing.

Instead of seeing a total mess, like I had suspected, I was greeted with a well-decorated party. Cobwebs hung from the ceiling, realistic skeletons were waiting by the door, and the dim lights and smell of sugar really tied it all together. However, not surprisingly, Wally and Robin were standing by the food table. Wally was stuffing his already full mouth with mints, while Robin was pushing him on.

"Come on, Walls!" Robin encouraged. "This'll be five hundred mints!"

"Oh my God," I said, walking up to them. Wally's face was almost the same shade as his hair. Suddenly, Wally's eyes widened and he turned to spit all of the mints onto the floor.

"Gross," Robin said, shaking his head. Though a huge smile played across his lips.

"I couldn't handle all the minty freshness," Wally gagged, dramatically gasping for air.

"Why would you ever think that was a good idea?" I asked, stifling my laughter.

"Rob dared me to!" Wally quickly accused. I looked at Robin with an eyebrow raised. The Boy Wonder put up his hands in surrender.

"I thought it would be asterous," Robin shrugged.

"Asterous?" I asked, not knowing the word.

"If dislike is the opposite of like," Robin swiftly dove into a lecture, "Is disaster the opposite of aster? Instead of things going wrong, they'd go right. Right?"

"Wow," I smirked at his reasoning. "Hey, where's everyone else?"

"The other girls are doing the finishing touches of their costumes," Robin said.

"Supey is probably hanging out with Wolf, and Kaldur is in his room or something," Wally added.

"Wolf?" I asked, "Who's that?"

"He's Conner's pet wolf," Robin told me, "How have you not seen him?"

"I don't know," I shrugged, disappointed at myself for my lack of observation. "And is Conner Superboy's name?"

"Where have you been the last month?" Wally laughed, "Did Supey not tell you his name?"

"Honestly, we haven't had a conversation yet," I admitted. "And it's the same with Kaldur."

"Well," Robin smirked, "It's now my mission to make you socialize with them. Tonight."

"Sweet!" Wally called out, high-fiving the Boy Wonder.
