"Julia," Dick called from the other side of the door, "Let me in so we can talk about this."
I stayed silent, trying to silently open the window, though to my horror it creaked loudly.
"The window? Really?" Dick asked, and I would bet a hundred bucks that he was rolling his eyes. "Listen, just stay whelmed and maybe we could have a normal conversation."
"Go away," I shouted.
"To be fair, you're in my room," Dick said and no doubt grinning childishly as he said it. "Now, let me in."
"No," I spat, climbing out of the window. I dropped to the ground, somersaulting easily.
I then took off running, covering the large yard as quickly as possible. I sprinted towards the magnificent gate that was stopping me from achieving freedom. To my amazing luck, the gate slowly started to swing open as I was getting closer. A sleek limousine started to pull up to the mansion. Not wanting to waste any time, I did the logical thing. I jumped on and over the car to get through the gate. I saw the driver's bewildered face for a split second, which was so funny I almost laughed. I left shoe prints on the pristine car, on the hood and the roof. As I looked behind me, I saw Dick bursting out of the front doors of the mansion. I put on a bit of speed and began my run back to my hammock. On my way there, I tried to lose Dick multiple times, but he always seemed to find me again. Eventually, I made it to my one and only safe haven. As I ran into the alley, Dick finally caught up to me. He grabbed my shoulder, and I flipped him over. He gasped as his back hit the ground. Hard.
"I don't want to fight," he said, his blue eyes piercing mine. I put my right foot on his chest, keeping him firmly in place.
"Then swear to leave me alone," I snarled. "I don't need you babysitting me."
"Obviously you do," Dick dared to send me a daring smirk. "This is where you plan to live? For how long? This is a hammock in a dark and cold alley. How would you get money for food?"
"I-" I started to argue.
"You planned to live here all alone for who knows how long," Dick said, "You figured that you could be fine on your own. You can't. You're just a fourteen-year-old girl who's too stubborn to see that she needs help."
"How dare you," I growled.
"How dare I?" Dick asked incredulously, "Would you rather me lie to you? You seem to love lying to me."
"Just shut up," I shut my eyes closed. I took deep breaths trying not to cry or scream or both. "You don't understand."
"Then help me understand," Dick said softly. I opened one eye slightly to see his kind face gazing up at me. I tentatively took a step back, taking my foot off of Dick. He sat up and brought one of his knees to his chest. Dick patted the ground next to him, inviting me to sit. Surprising myself, I did.
"Why do you care?" I asked him quietly.
"What?"
"Why do you care about who I am or what I'm doing?"
"I care because when I look at you I see someone who needs help. It doesn't matter that you're an extremely shady person. You're a shady person in need," Dick told me.
"And what do you think is wrong with me?" I raised an eyebrow.
"I don't know," he shrugged, "But mysteries are fun."
"Then how do you expect to help me?" I scoffed.
"Well first off," Dick declared, "You shouldn't be living in the street."
"Oh? And how exactly are you gonna fix that problem?"
"Easy," Dick said as if it were obvious, "You live with me."

"This is a horrible idea," I said for the millionth time. "Why did I agree to this?"
"Because you love me," Dick grinned.
"Yeah right," I rolled my eyes.
"Don't deny that my charm has won you over," Dick joked, opening the door to the Wayne Manor.
"What charm?"
"Ha ha," Dick said sarcastically, then announced to the seemingly empty house, "I'm home!"
"Where have you been?" a voice said from the top of the staircase. I studied the man from which the sound came from. He had night black hair and piercing blue eyes that seemed almost cold. He was intimidating, with his tall and muscular build. His suit added to his quieting effect.
"We have a guest," Dick said, disregarding the man's question.
"Where have you been?" the man repeated his question sternly. For the moment, the man focused only on Dick, thankfully.
"Um," Dick thought about his answer. "Team business."
"Really?" the man raised an eyebrow. Dick started to talk again, but the man held up a hand signaling for Dick to be quiet. "Who's our apparent guest?"
"Bruce," Dick smiled nervously, "This is Julia."
"Julia?" the man, Bruce, asked. He stared me in the eyes.
"Pleased to meet you," I said tightly.
"The pleasure is all mine," Bruce replied in a forced voice. "You know Dick from..."
"School," Dick answered. "She's this year's scholarship from your foundation."
"And she's also Mimic," Bruce narrowed his eyes at us.
"Batman," I said, finally realizing that Bruce Wayne was the Dark Knight, "Or Mister Wayne-"
"Can we talk in private?" Dick interrupted me, looking at Bruce. The man nodded, and the two went upstairs. Leaving me standing in their house, feeling awkward and annoyed.
"Something to eat, Mistress Julia?" a familiar and proper voice said. The butler, Alfred, appeared from the kitchen with a kind smile.
"Thank you," I sighed, following him to the dining room.
