>>>>< Another Night><<<<<

Once again, another night, another useless attempt to break down the door keeping me in this shitty room. I'm in my black suit that I wear every time in the phantom world.

"Ugh!! Open. You. Stupid. Door!" I continuously kick the door as if that would magically open it.I sigh out of exhaustion and sit on the bed, my head in my hands. "Why does this have to happen to us...?"

I end up curling into a human ball and drifting asleep, my thoughts running wild. Are the others okay? Have they managed to break out yet? The fear for them is a heavy blanket, smothering any hope I try to hold onto.

Next morning, Alex comes and does his daily blood sample and check-up. He's tried asking about the phantom world multiple times, but I'm still not sure I believe him.I haven't told him anything yet, hopefully the others haven't said too much either. It's possible they don't know that dimension is an exact copy of this one. If they found out that we could walk in the halls at night, it would be harder to catch them off guard.

That is, if I can get out...

The vent seems too small to crawl through, I'll need a card like Alex's if I want to open the door.Ugh... I feel like I'm going insane.

CLICK....

My head perks up at the noise. I grab a metal pole and brace myself."Hello...?" A soft voice spoke. "Taylor?? Aiden?"

Oh... my god.

"Ashlyn!" There stood Ben and Logan. I've never been happier to see their faces. I felt as if I could cry. Seeing them, faces etched with worry and determination, is like a shot of warmth to my frozen heart. It reminds me that I'm not alone in this nightmare. We all engage within a long group hug.

"W-Where are the others?? Wait- no... How'd you get out?"

"I asked Alex if I could play chess, since I couldn't sleep" Logan said. "Then once it got near midnight I asked to take a look at his card because I was curious" Logan pulled out the card. "I wasn't sure if was going to let me, but he seemed confident I wouldn't try anything so I managed to have it until 12."

Well that's much smarter than trying to kick down a door... I feel dumb. Logan always was the brains of the group. He's quiet and often overlooked, but when it comes to figuring things out, he's our secret weapon.

Suddenly I hear running footsteps and Logan quickly says as he points his gun. "Cover your ears, please." He shoots at an upcoming phantom. It plops on the floor, black goo spreading.

"here," He hands me a black stick weapon. "Ben had the bag Mike gave us wrapped around him before we ended up here. It came with our clothes the first time we 'rest' after our bodies got far from Savannah. We can talk about it more once we find the others."I nod in agreement.

The thought of what Aiden and Tyler look like floods my mind.

Will they be healed enough to walk around? The image of Tyler falling from the jeep, impaled by that branch, is burned into my memory. And Aiden...crushed beneath the rubble. Are they even still...themselves? I shake my head, trying to banish the thought. We have to find them.

We found another room and Logan flashed the card on the scanner, opening the door.

Blood...

So much blood, everywhere. The bed, the floor, and even some on the walls. My eyes widen at the sight... This must be where Tyler is. I say to myself.
