The room was dim, lit only by the soft, flickering light of a few candles on the corridor a couple of steps away. The night fully settled over the school, an eerie quiet ambience around. Outside, the wind rustled through the trees, their shadows visible through the tall windows of the third floor.
Draco and Lilianne were sitting on a bench, hidden by the pillars next to them. It had been an hour since he took her wrist after the first years were taken care of, confidently walking up the stairs until they got there. Resting, letting the conversation weave in and out of subjects both important and trivial.
She made a humming sound as her bag fell to the floor. Lips still locked as his hand found the small of her back, Friday already and she was in a bliss. Ever since Monday, she'd received a little paper note from the blond boy. She'd been heading to their alcove on the first floor far earlier than usual.
Just to be like this for longer. Beats quickening when her body was close to his, it showed he had experience in the matter. He always knew where to take her, how to grab her, how much force to put into the kiss. She felt exhilarating everytime. It was new, exciting, like he said... fun.
Once they got out of breath, their mouths separated with a small popping sound. He had a little smile on his face, "So, how was your day?". She snorted, "Aren't you supposed to ask that before the make out?" he shrugged, locking his hands together with his arms around her waist.
"Couldn't resist" He spoke in a whisper. Oh he's good. She thought as she stopped the shiver from hitting her, she smiled cheekily as her palms rested on his strong chest. "How was your day?" Lilianne desperately needed to pick up conversation before her face grew any hotter.
"Boring" He shrugged nonchalantly, "Just waiting for OWL's to come". His face was calm, unbothered, and alarmingly close to hers. Perhaps talking was not the best option to lose the flushing. "Aren't you nervous?" She asked, feeling his thumb absentmindedly pat her waist.
"Nah, I'll be fine. It's not that hard" He always seemed really confident, she knew he was part of the top three of his year but he didn't study half as Granger. And she knew Granger studied, she saw her in the library a lot. Draco, on the contrary, was more interested in cracking jokes at his friends or helping her when they grouped to study.
He liked to read, sure, but he didn't take many notes and yet he always had O's on his papers and tests. "You should study more" She said just to be sure. As smart as he was, he could not lose an OWL because he got too caught up kissing her.
"I'll be fine, don't worry. How are you with astronomy?" The brunette groaned. She aced her courses, she was not the student of her class but she was in the top ten. Never lower than an E. But astronomy, astronomy was another thing. She tried, she really did. But the moment she memorised one constellation, another came and confused her. "You should study" He smirked, leaning back a little.
"Don't mock me" Lilianne gasped, lightly hitting his shoulder, "I do good in everything else". The boy just snickered, going for her lips again, she was happy to comply. Losing the next ten minutes to the bliss of having him so close to her.
There was an air between them now, a stillness that she had not expected. She first noticed it when she went from her spot to being literally pressed to the boy, she had moved instinctively, yet she noted it. Then perhaps it was because they had been meeting up for some days now, but there was little to no hesitancy when they were close like this.
She doubted then, she had never gone further, a kiss was as far as she knew. Draco had, of course, he must have expectations, at least about that. It wasn't uncomfortable exactly, but it was heavy in a way that made Lilianne's chest tighten a little. She was acutely aware of the way his body was positioned next to hers, close enough that their legs brushed together whenever either of them moved.
