"See," Annika smirked; she felt her story was working on Solana. "I will always be a priority." She continued to heckle Solana. "I know you didn't think he would take you seriously. Did you really think that, blubber-body?"
"Bitch what?" Solana cursed as she leaned her head to the side. A scowl was carved into her face. She tried stepping to Annika but was immediately grabbed by Grant. He pulled her back to keep her from putting her hands on Annika.
"She's not worth it." He whispered into her ear.
"Of course, you'll try to attack me." Annika shrugged before pursing her lips. "You're jealous of me."
"Why would I be jealous of you?" Solana questioned her with anger in her tone.
"Take a look," Annika responded as she did a spin, wanting them to check her out. She wore a long-sleeved, white shirt with jeans. Her hair was down and pressed out. Very basic.
Nothing was clicking for Solana. Annika did her little twirl but she still missed what she was jealous of. She knew Annika considered herself the better pick since she was skinnier and had a lighter complexion. The same weird theory that existed in many people.
"Bitch, I don't give a fuck about you." Solana voiced with boldness. She didn't care about being nice and modest. The gloves were off. If Annika had to be her punching bag, so be it. "I want you to get that through your thick-ass skull."
Grant noticed Solana nearing Annika. He didn't stop her. This time, he allowed her to step toward the woman. For some reason, he felt she needed to put Annika in check. Maybe...just maybe, she would wake up and realize what was happening.
"I want you to leave me the hell alone." Solana voiced before glancing at Grant. "We saw all of the shit you were saying online. You're lucky I'm not beating your ass right now because I should—I should with the way you and that ugly ass girl was trying to belittle me."
"Yeah, I talked about you." Annika nodded. "And I feel that it was necessary because you ruined my relationship. It all started in the bookstore."
Solana remembered the fit Annika threw at the bookstore. It was the first time she laid eyes on Grant. Her initial thought was that he was handsome and made her nervous. She could barely process her thoughts since Annika tried putting Grant in the spotlight for secretly checking her out.
"How did I ruin your relationship?" Solana squinted her eyes, wanting to understand Annika and her delusion.
Annika frowned before dropping her shoulders. "Are you serious? You set your eyes on Grant at the bookstore, and it's been your mission to get him. You're always near him—at school, the print shop, or his family's house. WHY WERE YOU AT HIS FAMILY FUNCTIONS? You weren't his girlfriend."
"We were friends at the time, and his people like me—no, they love me." Solana pushed out, emphasizing on love. "They love me and invite me to their events. I can't help it that I'm likable and loveable."
"Why am I having a conversation with you?" Annika questioned aloud with her head leaned to the side. "The damage is already done. You fucked my man with no remorse and—"
"Your man?" Solana held a scowl and said, "Girl, he doesn't want you. Ya'll are not together. What you need to do is get your shit and get the fuck out."
Those words cut Annika deeply. She could handle her temper with Grant proclaiming to be done with her. However, she didn't like hearing it from Solana. She dropped her grey eyes toward the red roses and gripped them tightly before hitting Solana in the face. Grant saw the signs and immediately tried to step in, but Annika was too quick.
