[we're back🙂↔️]
The booming noise interrupted Solana's beauty sleep. Slowly, she adjusted her body and lifted her head from the futon she slept on. Her eyes darted toward the door in irritation and suspense. Solana knew Trinity was playing the loud music that blared from the living room. She sucked her teeth while pulling the blankets away from her body.
Solana stomped toward the door and immediately snatched it open. She marched right to the front and realized Trinity was doing makeup. Elena sat in the chair, some parts of her face coated in setting powder. Solana sighed but was still annoyed by the loud interruption. She was tired and needed all the sleep she could get.
Tonight, she would be participating in the volleyball tournament. The Winston State Hornets were going against the Lowell University Penguins. Solana was a little antsy because Grant planned on showing up. She didn't want him there but didn't want to hurt his feelings. Solana felt his showing up to support her was awkward. She knew that Annika would be there playing, too. The entire situation was just too much for her to process.
"Good morning." Trinity glanced at her bestie with a smirk. She was tapping her brush, trying to shake the excess makeup away. "What are you doing up this early on a Friday? You don't have any classes today."
"Your music is loud." Solana pushed out in a deadpan tone.
"Oh." Trinity's mouth dropped as she leaned over to turn down her music. Solana's ears felt relieved, but she was still annoyed.
"Solana." Elena greeted her as she closed her eyes and allowed Trinity to paint her face like a canvas.
Solana folded her arms and hesitantly pushed out, "Elena."
"I don't understand why everything is so weird between us." Elena began, referring to the tension between her and Solana. "Like, there shouldn't be any animosity-why is there animosity?"
Instead of being soft and sweet, Solana shrugged and immediately spewed, "I don't know. You tell me."
"I feel like we're competing over Trinity."
"Oh..." Solana narrowed her eyes. "Do you?"
"I do. In fact, I believe you don't want to share Trinity. You want her all to yourself."
Elena was telling the truth. Solana didn't like sharing Trinity. She wanted to be the only person Trinity hung out with. Too bad she had such a friendly and bubbly personality. Solana wished her friend was an introvert who preferred being alone.
"See...look at you." A smirk etched across Elena's face as she glanced at Solana before Trinity adjusted her face. "I know I'm telling the truth."
"Anyways..." Solana pursed her lips before saying, "Keep your music down. I need to rest before the game."
"Oh, what game?" Elena questioned her nosily.
Solana didn't get to speak because Trinity decided to speak for her.
"You know Solana plays volleyball."
"That's right." Elena nodded. "I want to go. What time does it start?"
Their conversation continued, which caused Solana to wrinkle her nose. She folded her arms and redirected herself to her bedroom. There was no reason for her to stand there since Trinity and Elena were busy making plans. Solana was grateful to hear that they both would be attending her game. However, she managed to find some issues with it.

"Do I need to come out there? Is everything okay?"
"Everything is fine," Grant replied to his mom. He walked inside his drafty apartment and locked the door behind him. He knew he was home alone since Hugh was in class. Immediately, he tossed the bag on the counter and ran into his room to change his clothes.
