Solana was knocked out in bed after being up all morning. Grant wasn't ready to nap since he was busy talking with his father. He was trying to process the information his father gave him about the gun.

The weapon belonged to a young college student who attended Winston. Dominick claimed he and several other men were picked up on several charges this morning. Apparently, the bullet casings matched the same shells from Jerome Montgomery's crime scene. The detectives were sure the college student was responsible for both.

Instead of sitting in the hotel room, Grant sat on the balcony. He wore nothing but a pair of shorts and slides. A durag tied his hair down. The tall man sat on the sofa with his legs stretched out. He allowed his brown skin to soak up the warm sun. Grant took in the scene of the city and immediately felt some sort of comfort in it. Trees surrounded several buildings. The roads were filled with people. Los Angeles was a bustling and expensive city.

"Did the detectives mention a name?" Grant asked his dad as he leaned against the sofa.

"They did, uh..." Dominick trailed off, thinking. "I think it's Baptist or something like that."

"Baptist?" Grant reiterated with his brows furrowed.

"No, it's Baptiste. Obie Baptiste."

Realization hit Grant hard. It felt like someone had punched him right in the gut. Slowly, he stood up, his face still in a tight scowl.

"Obie Baptiste?"

"Yeah, that's who the detectives mentioned. You know him or something?"

"Not really, but..." Grant trailed off and shook his head. "We've had a run-in before."

"Run-in?"

"Yeah...but it was after my injury. Before that, I didn't know the guy. Josh knows him."

"So, he just randomly targeted you?" Dominick continued to pester his son with questions.

"I believe so...I don't know."

"Hm..." Dominick trailed off. "Where is Solana?"

Grant found it strange his father was asking about Solana again. Dominick wanted him to speak with her. Grant wasn't sure why until his father decided to break everything down for him.

He glanced over his left shoulder and looked through the glass. He noticed Solana lying there with her head buried against the pillow. She was fast asleep, wearing nothing.

"She's here...still asleep." He muttered.

Dominick stayed silent for a brief moment. He knew his son was dating Solana. Pictures of them were everywhere, and he knew chemistry was brewing between the two. They were inseparable when around each other.

"I don't know how to tell you this, son, but...There were two detectives working on Jerome Montgomery's case—Detective Jones and O'Brien. They passed some important information on to the detectives working on your case—Detective Woods and Ambrosia. Solana has been heavily involved with the Baptiste clan, and I—"

"Wait a minute, involved? What do you mean involved?"

"She's been setting men up for them to kill."
