"Stiles why am I getting the feeling that you know something that could help us help your dad?" Agent McCall asked glancing down at the teenage boy staring at his hands. Stiles wished he did, even if he could tell the agent the circumstances involving his dads disappearance none of it would make sense. So instead Stiles let out a sigh, glanced up and responded.

"If I did why would I not tell you?"

"If it meant helping your dad why wouldn't you?" The Agent responded. Stiles eyes scrunched up in confusion at his best friends dads voice before retorting back.

"So you're asking me to tell you what I wouldn't not tell you?"

"First I have no idea what you just said, second how about you just let me help you."

"Well I don't know how to help you, help me tell you something that would help you if I don't know it," The demigod responded tilting his head slightly in confusion of what he just said himself.

"Are you doing this on purpose?" Scott's dad asked scrunching his eyes down towards the teenager. Stiles let out an annoyed sigh. "I don't know anything okay? Can I just go?"

"Where are your other friends?"

"You mean Scott?"

"I mean Isaac Lahey, Allison Argent, Jackson Whittemore, these twins, and this Percy Jackson fellow whose been around the school district a bit, seems like your whole clique didn't show up to school today."

"I don't have a clique," Stiles snapped. The Agent let out a sigh, explaining to the teenager the unique events happening around this town that were tied to this specific school the last few months. That if he knew something and feared repercussions he needed to think to help his dad first and foremost because he was missing. Stiles wanted to scream that he knew all that, that he knew more then him that he had known all along and he couldn't stop a single thing, that everything was out of his control and that the Agent was holding up valuable time for him to save his father. Instead, the son of the sea bit his lip and just stared at his hands.

"Fine," Agent McCall said with a sigh giving up. "But I don't want you going home alone, do you have anyone you could stay with tonight?" Stiles glanced up unsure of what to say, knowing if Scott's dad offered he would be in no power to say no, but that he'd be able to make no effort to go look for his father.

"He's with me," A voice called out from the doorway, Stiles eyes shot over to see Deaton standing in the door way.

"And you are?" Agent McCall asked.

"He's uh my boss, Scott's too," Stiles quickly added.

Scott walked next to Deucalion as the other three Alphas sprinted past them hunting for there emissary, Scott didn't particularly know how to feel about hunting down the school's guidance counselor, but if she knew something that could help him find his mother and Stiles dad he was going to go for it. Besides, the way he had failed at the hospital to protect everyone, meant he needed to learn how to stay one step ahead of everyone just like Percy had been.

He knew in his heart that Percy could've ended it all that night in the hospital but chose not to, he chose specifically to let himself and Stiles learn to adapt without him, or without the help of Nico. When he had been injured last spring Scott and Stiles followed along like good soldiers doing what Nico and Thalia had told them to do. This summer Percy had trained them to be better alone, and to hopefully survive these events without him, maybe it was the fact that his mother and Stiles father were the targets that sat to close to home for Scott is why he ended up where he was right now but he didn't care.
