All Might sat at his desk in UA's staff room as he went over the reports.
There were so many reports to go over these days. Not to mention the schoolwork he needed to grade and the classes he had to teach. He didn't regret coming to UA to teach, it's just that... no one envisaged what had happened. Thankfully, UA was a place of professionals, and the other teachers were used to covering for each other when events called them away to work as Heroes.
The inter-school activity was still going well, even if it had already yielded its intended result. The public didn't know that though. And the program was doing well in progressing its public goal of having the heroic schools working together. The private result though was going to be needed now, more than ever and Inasa was progressing fantastically with One For All.
Toshinori sometimes felt guilty, because he was giving his active time towards public appearances and heroics, and training Inasa. The students seemed to understand, and they were getting used to seeing him in his small form. Inasa though...
He had to find some time to have a serious discussion with Inasa. The teen had internalised his response to Tartarus and everything else. He was focused on his training. That was going well. Yagi couldn't deny that, but he didn't want Inasa to become... He didn't want Inasa to become so focused on taking out All For One and Izuku that he forgot who he was. That he forgot the world was there. If Toshinori was honest with himself, that had been him. He'd believed it was necessary but with the benefit of hindsight...
Some of it had been necessary but there were opportunities he hadn't taken that would have made things better, if he'd just recognised that at the time. Of course, those opportunities didn't seem as if they would assist but if he'd taken even a minute to think them through, then he would have seen their value. He'd made split second decisions for years, even when he wasn't actually fighting a villain, and that wasn't healthy.
He needed to make sure Inasa knew he had a choice, knew he had people he could rely on. That would make a difference. If the teen tried to go it alone...
Inasa didn't need to repeat the mistakes of the past.
According to Mirai, he wasn't going to. Mirai had seen Inasa become the number one hero but... He'd been the number one hero and that hadn't solved anything. There had to be some way of showing Inasa what he'd learned, what he knew. All Might gave a self-depreciating bark of laughter.
That's what he was here for, at UA, to teach what he'd learned and what he knew to the next generation but-
He was going to have to tell him about everything. And going to have to do it in a way that Inasa understood the danger. Toshinori nodded to himself. That would make sense but what might make sense to him wouldn't necessarily make sense to Inasa.
The former Number One Hero sighed.
He could but try.
And he hated that.
-ted-
Inasa peered down the street. It wasn't a real street. It was one of UA's city-scape training grounds. He had to get to the other side, but he knew that it wasn't going to be easy. All around the cityscape were heroes and their job was to stop him. Some of the heroes were UA teachers, some teachers from other hero schools. Koi had told him she wasn't participating but to expect almost everyone else. And that's all she'd said.
There might even be some students.
He wasn't entirely sure what to feel about this.
No one else was getting this type of training. Just him.
