Izuku looked down at his phone and smiled.
"They are all out?" his father asked.
He nodded. "Just confirmed then," he said. The League were moving out of the bar this morning and the last of them had just confirmed they had safely made their way somewhere. He didn't need to know where.
He and his father were in one of the warehouses. Kurogiri was with them. Izuku was feeling a bit self-conscious standing with his father while in costume. His leather costume was practical but... He felt unrefined. His father had said nothing and Izuku had promised himself he'd make upgrades to his costume later.
His father was wearing a suit and was carrying the shell of his life support helmet.
While Izuku was feeling self-conscious he was honoured that his father had asked him to accompany him today. Izuku wasn't meant to fight All Might. He was going to make sure no one interfered.
His father hefted the helmet but before he put it on, he looked over. "Are you ready?" he asked.
Izuku nodded. "Where are we going?" He didn't think they were going to assault UA but if his dad wanted to, then he'd do it.
The grin his father gave him showed the sharp anticipation he felt. "Since I want All Might, I thought I'd make it easy for him to find me, so we are going to Musutafu."
Izuku blinked. He knew where Musutafu was. UA was situated on the outskirts of the city. Actually, on one of the hillsides looking down on Musutafu.
"We can get coffee, see the sights," his father continued.
He couldn't help it. He laughed because his father was being so absurd. "So, you need me to hold off the rest of the UA staff?"
His dad nodded and then looked at the helmet with disgust.
"Deception strategy," Izuku reminded him.
His father gave a heavy sigh. "And not for much longer," he murmured. "See if anyone does anything unusual," he instructed. "They could have One For All," he explained.
That made sense. Izuku nodded. As his dad put the helmet on, Izuku handed his phone to Kurogiri. If he got into a fight, it could be broken or if lost, provide too much information. He could put it in his Pocket, but this was safer. If it was in his Pocket, he'd be tempted to use it if he was captured and that could be bad. He had a geolocator on him, which Kurogiri had the key for and Izuku had Radio Waves, or a copy of that quirk, so he could order Kurogiri from a distance. It was far safer than using his phone.
The helmet settled in place with a hiss and his father rolled his shoulders to get used to the weight. The white of his shirt really stood out against both the black of his suit and the helmet. Izuku looked at his father critically, checking to make sure none of his hair was showing. He wouldn't want All Might getting a hint before the grand reveal. "You're good," he said and then put his own helmet in place.
It was probably not necessary for him. He wasn't trying to hide his youth today, but it was also a reasonable precaution, and his costume was incomplete without it. And... he wasn't planning on transforming today, so there would be no need for a wardrobe change mid battle. He did have a spare set of clothes in his pocket, just in case.
Briefly, his father lay one hand on his shoulder. It was surprisingly warm, even through his leathers.
"This should not take long," he reassured him.
"If UA plays along," Izuku agreed, not so subtly reminding his father that their plans ultimately rested on how others reacted.
"True, but let's go see if they want to play," he replied cheerfully
