Chasing the Dragon's Tail

"My Dragon, you are up early."

Izuku was surprised to see his dad in the kitchen. "So are you," he commented.

His father smiled and Izuku saw a phone. "I have been assessing the state of my overseas network," he explained.

"I-" Izuku wasn't sure how to phrase the question. He knew his dad had contacts but didn't know the extent of them.

"It is reduced," All For One interpreted. "But there are still some who know what is good for them."

Izuku nodded.

"Why are you up?"

"I usually get up at this time," Izuku explained. "It gives me time for me, and if any of the others want to talk privately, they know they can now," he added.

"Very wise," his father murmured.

"Today I wanted to find Kurogiri," Izuku continued. "I want to go somewhere," he added.

"Somewhere?"

"A grave."

"Did you not honour him already?" All For One asked, referring to Dabi. Izuku had given his ashes to his mother.

Izuku shook his head. "Not him," he said softly.

"Then who?"

He sighed.

"My Dragon, you do not need to be ashamed," his dad said, correctly assessing his reluctance.

"It sounds silly," Izuku said.

"But it's important to you?"

He nodded.

"Then it is important," All For One reassured him.

"I want to visit Saicho Kijo's grave," Izuku told him and saw his look of confusion indicating he didn't know the name. "She was the older lady you had me take the quirk from."

While he still didn't know much about her, All For One knew what role she'd played in his son's life. "What brought this up?"

"We discussed vestiges the other day," Izuku said.

That clarified his son's desire. "You saw her?"

Izuku nodded. "Not for the first time," he admitted. "The first couple of times I didn't realise what was happening, but we actually had a conversation last night."

"Oh?" That was interesting and went some way to explaining why Izuku wanted to visit her grave. "Do you know where it is?"

"I had Giran find it for me a while back," Izuku explained.

"Then you should go," All For One nodded.

"Didn't you want to hear about the vestiges?"

"You can tell me this afternoon." He was going to take out All Might this afternoon and while his entertainment after that glorious deed would be extensive, he'd need something to entertain him while waiting for the blond moron to put in an appearance. "You've already told them to scatter?" All For One asked, gesturing vaguely above him to indicate the League.

Izuku nodded. "They will scatter today. Some might have already gone," he added with a grin. "But you want me to be there?"

"I do," All For One assured his son. "The heroes must be anticipating something from me and given the events of Kamino, and before them Tsu, All Might would be foolish to come alone."

"You think he's going to bring his successor!" Izuku accused.

"Yes. So, is it not right that I bring mine?" he asked with a smug smile.
