[Amelia's Point of View]
...
Arriving from the past? Bull! Was my father a freaking time traveller? I wanted those abilities, too! I wasn't quite sure if he knew why his future-self would suddenly vanish, along with Mom. I decided to query, since Ace seemed like he didn't want to ask any other questions for the time being. Perhaps he was shocked? Surprised? Relieved? Ace will always be Ace.
"So, um, Add~" I started. "Is there a possibility that you would abandon us, your beloved children, in the future for whatever reason? Ace and I have been r-really lonely, all these years! Y-You and Ara disappeared all of a sudden, and we never really got to know each other well, even though you guys were our p-parents..." Several fake tears rolled down my cheeks, to add in to the act.
Add blinked. "Most likely not. Damn, don't cry...!" he replied, patting me on the head. "Well, I'm apologizing for my future self's sake, so calm down. I have no clue what could've happened, though. Tch. Happy now?"
Gee, he didn't seem to be that great at dealing with kids. A person that was genuinely as innocent as this probably would've started wailing more.
An alarming snicker promptly escaped from the concealed entity behind me: Ji. Its volume was loud enough for Add to hear, I'd presume. Anyone that was passing by would've questioned where the rowdiness came from, since no one visible was giggling.
"Who's there?!" Father scowled. "Tsk! Reveal yourself!"
Ji's invisibility was gone. She hopped over, standing in front of him on her bare fours. Her fur filled with fluff looked as white as ever, and the purple line-markings from before were still there, slightly glowing. Fortunately, the locality empty all of a sudden, so no one would've gotten suspicious of the ancient fox.
"And you are?" Add narrowed his eyes at the creature.
"My, no need to be so... hasty, Add. We have plenty of time to spare. As for introductions, I am Ji. You are familiar with Ara's Eun, are you not? I am of a similar spirit. That explanation should suffice, no?" she replied with a smirk.
"Actually, we don't have that much time to waste, Ji--" Ace protested.
"Hush, child!" Ji interrupted.
"I suppose so. But, Eun didn't trust me very much back then. Are you aware of that information? I wouldn't blame you if you hated me, too. Because a visitor from the past is soooo suspicious." he rolled his eyes.
"I am different from Eun, thank you." Ji grimaced. "Don't jump to conclusions so quickly!"
"Fine. Anyway, there's something I've been wanting to ask. Do you have any leads regarding Ara's whereabouts? I need to find her, as soon as possible."
"How romantic!" Ji laughed again. "Perfect for you, we're on a journey. Our goal was to find you and her, but we've already located you, so we're currently at the 50% mark. Success."
"Then, I'll join you guys. Weaklings like you can't survive the dangers that could possibly lie ahead, so it's good to have me aboard." Add announced.
Ugh! He was so cocky and arrogant! But, I had to admit, I was the same as him, somewhat. So this must have been where my personality branched out from!
Ace nodded. "Affirmative."
"I'm not a 'weakling'! I have a contract with Ji. She supplies me with power!" I snapped.
Oops. Not good, not good, not good! My facade; it was broken easily. Ah, I wonder what Add thought of me now~
"Oh? Is that so?" Add responded, chuckling. "Interesting. Then, does Ace possess any abilities, as well?"
My brother frowned a little. "Uh.. I'm afraid not."
Immediately, several cracks emerged from out of nowhere, in thin air. Emitting from them were six more floating devices, except they were shaped like coffins instead of diamonds. "Very well. Then, you may have these."
"But, what are they?" Ace was utterly confused, and so was I.
"Nasod dynamos. Weapons. I'd assume that you know absolutely nothing about the Nasod species, so it would be hard to wield these. Hmm... Whatever, it's worth a try. Experiments are what make up a scientist. Kyahahaha~! Let's begin!" he simpered.
