[Amelia's Point of View]
...
Without hesitation, we all departed to find Ara, absconding from Elder Village. My only worry was that we would be chased after sooner or later, since we probably looked pretty damn suspicious from a stranger's point of view.
The sun was still shining as bright as ever, it was almost as if rainy days didn't exist in Lurensia, but perhaps they did in the other half of Elrios, Fluone. I was curious. Very curious.
Add was mumbling "Ara Search Party" as he sped around on his dynamos.
"'Ara Search Party'?" I repeated.
"Mm, yes. I used to be affiliated with this gang, they referred to themselves as the 'El Search Party'. So, I just thought that we'd call ourselves... yeah." he scoffed. "Tsk. It's stupid. Ignore me."
"I like the sound of that, Dad!" Ace grinned, racing after him on his own set of dynamos. "ASP! Ara Search Party!"
I giggled. "Whatever. Anything works."
...
Several hours of travelling passed. We were positioned in a dry, desert-like region, with the breeze from the valleys rushing by. My twin-braids and bangs swayed along gracefully. In comparison to Ruben and Elder, this area was scorching! I needed a fan or two to cool down, and a nice, cold drink.
"Ji! Where on Elrios are we?! It's insanely humid!" I complained.
The fox sighed, remaining undetectable. "Bethma. Yes, I believe that is what this village is called. According to my senses, Ara is not located here, but in the next city over. Altera, the home of the Ponggos."
"And how long will that take? I demand a refreshing drink this instant!"
"It is uncertain." Ji replied. "We'll take a break later, you may consume all the water you need when the time comes."
I groaned. I'd much rather be in a colder place than a hotter one.
Add must have been attentively watching our surroundings. "Odd. Every single shop and building here is shut down and closed off. Nobody, and I mean, nobody is around. Fox! Care to explain? This is definitely Bethma, however, it is vacant!"
The spirit revealed herself, after a glimmering light appeared and faded. "Hmm. You're indeed correct, Add. But, I have nothing to do with this phenomenon."
Right as Ji finished her sentence, a swarm of shadowy creatures surrounded us in a full circle. They consisted of all shapes and sizes, but their colours were all the same shade of dark black. Although, most of them were human-shaped, even if they were void inside.
In a flash, Add was already attacking the shadows rapidly. "I'll believe you, for now. If you dare lie to me, I won't hesitate to rip you into shreds and pieces, along with all of these weaklings!"
He continued on with his torment and taunting. "Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic! All of you monsters are simply pathetic! Moonlight Rhapsody!"
A field of energy surrounded the enemies, but I wasn't too sure about what transpired.
I decided to help out, and Ace tagged along. Soon, all three of us were pummeling. Add and Ace with their dynamos, and me with my spear.
"The Ara Search Party is unbeatable!" I smirked.
"No, I wouldn't say that just yet, Ame."
