Yass school is in a few days/a month for some people!! And i know its a dreadful thought! School, homework, classes, moving around, lunch, friends, bullies...ugh ew help. But I feel like everyone else is a step ahead than freshmen! Freshmen are either so scared and nervous or so excited and ready. But whatever it is, the first year will always be a tiny bit harder and more different. So I thought i'd help out and give you some tips that i'v learned from reading, watching videos and experience of course! Since i love ya'll so much, I wanna help out. You can still take these tips and advise! :D

1. Remember you aren't alone! There are hundreds of kids/teens starting school and becoming a freshmen. They're experiencing what you're experiencing this very moment!

2. Don't be afraid to make new friends! High school is the time to try new things and maybe your school has clubs and activities to offer? There are so many people who share the same interests as you and are seeking some friends who share that interest. Sometimes you may have nothing in common but still have the desire to be friends! yayy whoo! ((don't ask if they read fanfictions. that'll probably freak them out. you can be my friend dont worry))

3. Join an interesting club or sport! There are so many clubs and sports to choose from! ((depends on your school!)) Example; the environmental club, basketball club, drama club, choir, hockey club, chess clubs, cooking club and maths clubs!!

4. Your teachers are there to help you! This has probably already been drilled into your head many other times, and i'm going to drill it in even deeper. High school teachers want to make sure you clearly understand the material, as it becomes more and more crucial as college nears. Even though your teacher might not be the brightest, keep in mind that they are only trying to help you!

5. Don't be afraid to ask questions! If you aren't understanding the subject, just ask!! Have you ever been in that situation where your teacher asks, "Does everyone understand? Can I move along?" and no one puts their hand up and you're thinking "I don't understand this but it'll be so embarrassing if I put my hand up. So i'll just pretend I understand" and then your teacher gives you HOMEWORK on that subject and then you're too scared to tell her you didn't understand because she'll be like "Well why didn't you say that earlier??" omg i'v been in that situation so many times in middle school its crazy. So try to avoid that situation! Its better to understand than not to because you'll be confused about that subject for a very long time! Chances are, there are others who also don't get it and are silently asking the same question!

6. Upperclassmen really aren't so bad. If you don't know what are "upperclassmen", they are the students in higher classes than you. People make them out to be "mean" and will always "bully the freshmen". They may look super intimidating, but they were in your same position years ago. They understand how you feel. You can always go to one of them for advise but not directions. Sometimes they'll lead you to the class you weren't supposed to go to and you'll just get severely embarrassed. Some of them can make really good friends though! They'll watch out for you and be like an older brother/sister!

7. Popularity means nothing, especially if you go to a small school. ((i go to a highschool that has over 900 students, pray for me)) Don't worry about trying to impress people, you shouldn't have to! Just be you and you'll get the real friends that like you for who you are! It doesn't matter if you have 30 friends or only 3 friends. As long as they're kind and loyal to you, thats that.

8. Doing the homework really benefits you. Sure, sometimes it may seem like busy work but its only making you better! You need to be devoting a good amount of time on your homework. Plus if you do it, you will get way better grades and relieve a lot of stress of your shoulders!

9. The littlest things can get you in trouble! Make sure you know ALL your school rules so you can avoid all those silly detentions!! Lmao im asian so if i get one detention my parents would get so mad and then my mom would probably be like "ah well, you've been good all your life so" if only she knew about wattpad...
Are there any stupid little rules in your school or something? Comment them down, i'll have fun reading them lmao!

10. Have fun! Highschool is like a rollercoaster, okay? There will be good times and bad times! Just don't go in expecting it to be as easy as...idk unlocking your phone. Im smooth af. But seriously, have fun and just enjoy it while it lasts! You'll lose friends and make friends but thats the journey, okey dokie?

I hope I helped! :)
