I relaxed a little when Rylan started to relax against her mate, even though I was still on edge, especially since I knew how dangerous she could be to the ones that I cared about.

But that didn't stop the fact that she was still an innocent and pregnant at that...

Rylan sighed and moved a hand across her belly while she looked at it, biting back a small frown while she furrowed her brows. "Can we make sure that I am the only one pregnant through this whole ordeal, please?" she asked, not hiding the fact that she didn't like being pregnant while she looked at all of us.

"I mean, we will try, but that doesn't mean we don't want to have some... fun time with our mates," Thaddeus said and flashed her a smirk and a wink, which led her to roll her eyes and scowl at one of her friends. "It is not fair that you get a second baby."

"Second baby?" Mitchie asked with a laugh, and for some reason, it rubbed me the wrong way, even though I had no idea why it did so. "What do you mean by second baby, Thaddeus? This is going to be like her fourth or fifth baby."

"Or it could be the fourth and fifth baby," Rylan said and shrugged with a small grimace on her face, even though a small smile appeared on her lips. "I am not going to be surprised if I have another set of twins, since I already had one set of them."

"Please, don't say something like that, Ry," Mitchie said with a groan in her voice. She folded her arms across her chest and pouted. "I am sure that you had talked it into the universe, and that is exactly what you are going to get."

Rylan laughed and nodded. "I wouldn't be surprised, Mitch," she said and ate some more of her food. She cleared her throat and shifted in her seat. "It would be an amazing trick if it were true, and then we could have amazing stories to tell when they are older."

"Are you going to be some sort of baby machine?" Thomas asked, sounding shocked and surprised. "Is that what you are talking about?"

Rylan looked at him and flashed him a small smirk and a wink without saying a word. She finished her food and shifted in her seat, biting back a small yawn of exhaustion while she shook her head. "Excuse me," she said. "I think that it might be time for me to go to bed, so I hope that you a-" She paused mid yawn and yawned, and this time, I couldn't help but yawn as well, "all have fun exploring, if you have the energy to do so because I sure do not."

"Mommy, can I sleep in the same room as you, please?" Jonah asked and rubbed his eyes while a small pout appeared on his lips. He yawned and shook his head, and I could tell that he was getting tired, even though he had been wanting to explore everything that this place had offered. "I know that I wanted a big room for all of the kids, but I want to sleep with you and Daddy."

"Sure," she said and nodded before she stood. She looked at me and offered me an apologetic smile, and I couldn't help but scowl and narrow my eyes at her. "I think it might be best if the dishes wait until tomorrow. For some reason, it looks like everyone needs to go to bed before they pass out."

"Ya, what did you do to the food, Sam?" Garrett asked, and I couldn't help but growl softly at him, even though I knew that he didn't mean anything by it. He gave me a weird look but shook his head while he tried to keep himself awake. "Did you poison it or something?"

"I did no such thing, Garrett," I said and gritted my teeth together. "I do not know why you would say such a thing, but I didn't do it. I wouldn't hurt kids, especially Fel." I gestured toward my sister-in-law, who was basically asleep at this point without a care in the world. "You should know that by now."

"I'm not even blaming her," Rylan said and shook her head. She walked over to her son and picked him up, and he instantly wrapped his arms around her neck and laid his head on her shoulder. "I think it is because of the people who are watching over us. They're trying to signal that this is the time to be asleep and that it is late."

"Well, they need to fucking stop pushing us to be asleep," Garrett said and snarled, gritting his teeth together. "What the hell is wrong with them? Don't they know that we want to explore the house that we are set in and get to know about everyone that we are supposed to be working with?"

"I am sure that they do," Rylan replied and shrugged, and I couldn't help but silently agree with her, even though I wouldn't admit it out loud. "However, they also want us to get accumulated with everything that is happening and going to happen first, which is why we can't go outside yet. We won't be of much use to them if we are exhausted."

"Or fighting one another," Thomas said. He walked over to me and pressed a kiss to the side of my head, and I couldn't help but smile and close my eyes. "Isn't that right, Sam?" he asked with a small teasing tone in his voice, and I couldn't help but grunt and roll my eyes without saying a word.

Rylan chuckled softly and started to walk in a direction away from everyone, and the others went to follow her while Thiomas walked over to his little sister so that he could pick her up and take her to bed.

I stayed where I was and bit back a small frown, not knowing if I trusted her to lead us to any bedrooms, but I couldn't help but have this feeling that she was going in the right direction.

Has she been here before..?

I mentally shook my head, biting back a small snort because I knew that wasn't the case, especially since she didn't seem to know why there were two suns in the first place.

But how did she know that there was a house in this direction and was going in a direction in which the others are following her without questioning her intent..?

Thomas looked at me and frowned after he grabbed his sister and picked her up. Worry flashed through his eyes while he studied my face as if he knew what I was thinking and why I was thinking it. "Are you ok?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. He walked to my side and pressed a gentle kiss to my lips, and I couldn't help but kiss him back, loving the mate bond that was between us and the fact that there were no longer any spells keeping him away from me. "You are tense."

I sighed and shook my head, moving a hand through my hair and across my face. "No," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "I am not ok, but I do not know what is wrong with me."

Thomas looked in the direction that Rylan and the others had gone, leaving us the only two in the dining room. "Maybe you are jealous," he said and looked at me, and I couldn't help but growl a warning at him.

He slowly blinked and looked at me, unamused. "You are, Sam," he said softly with a shake of his head. "You are jealous because you don't think you are like her. You are also intimidated by her and the fact that so many people from different species look up to her."

I scoffed a laugh and rolled my eyes, pursing my lips in annoyance. "T-"

"Do not lie to me or to yourself, Sam," he warned, interrupting me and ignoring the small growl that I sent his way. "You are, and you know that you are. That is why your guard is up around her because you have no idea how you feel or know how to react around her." He looked in the direction that she had gone in before he looked at me. "Maybe you both need to have a long ass chat away from everyone where it is just you and her. You never know, you might find out that you like and respect her."

"Do you?" I asked, feeling jealous that my mate would like her when I didn't, even though I had this feeling that she would not do anything to or with him because she was in love with her mate.

"But I love you even more," Thomas said and pressed a kiss to my lips. He smiled and tucked his head closer to his chest. "Come on, let's go and get some sleep. Tomorrow you can hash it out with her so that you can stop feeling so jealous when there is no reason to be." He grabbed my hand and started to walk in the direction that they had gone in a while ago.

I scoffed a laugh and rolled my eyes, pursing my lips in annoyance. "There is always a reason to get jealous," I said and followed him, even though there wasn't a reason for me to get jealous. "Do not give me that, Thomas."

Thomas laughed and nodded, even though I had a feeling that he didn't believe me. "Yes, Dear," he said and squeezed my hand reassuringly before he pulled me closer to him and kissed me again. "Whatever you say."

Oh Goddess, please, don't let me hurt her, I silently prayed and bit the inside of my lip while my heart ached and became filled with pain and sadness. Please, because I have no idea what is wrong with me...
