"Oh my Sannie!" His mother, I assume, squealed as she darted outside to hug him. "I'm so glad to see you again! Merry Christmas my dear!" She said as she pulled Back from the hug and cupped San's face. I softly giggled at the warm welcome and at the expression on San's face. Then his mother's eyes turned to me.
"Oh my..." she slowly said as she let go of San's face. Her eyes widened as she looked at me. Was something on my face?
"Aren't you a beautiful boy?!" She said as she wrapped her arms around my body, giving a warm hug. I just smiled and hugged her back. I love his mother already. "You must be wooyoung, right?" She said as she pulled back from the hug, not letting go of my waist yet.
"Yes, I am." I replied with a big smile. His mom squealed again.
"Oh! His voice is so soothing! San, why didn't you bring him here earlier?" She said as she playfully hit sans arm.
"Mom, you're making him uncomfortable." San said bluntly. His mom immediately let go of me and bowed as she started apologising.
"I'm so sorry! I tend to get a little excited." She said embarrassedly.
"Not at all, miss Choi! I appreciate your warmth." I said with a small shiver in my voice. The freezing temperatures were starting to get to me. My fingers turned red from the cold and they started to hurt. I should've brought gloves.
"Oh dear, let's get inside. You're freezing out here." She said worriedly as she pushed me inside. Making San enter the house himself.
The door shut with a loud slam as the cold wind pushed the wooden surface. Miss Choi helped me take off my layers and left San to do so himself.
"Now your handsome face isn't covered by that scarf anymore." She cupped my face with her warm hands and observed my face with a big smile. "Young men only get more handsome these days!"
"Hyewon, Stop scaring the boy and come help Jongho in the kitchen!" I heard his dad (?) shout from what I assume is the kitchen. She rolled her eyes at me and I laughed at her. Before she left she patted on my shoulder and gave me a warm smile.
I turned to San, who was hanging up his coat on the rack. Before I could say anything to him, the door to the hallway opened again. I tall man walked through the door frame and brushed his hair back. He looked fairly young, just like San's mom did. Was this his father?
"San! It's so good to see you again, my son." He said as he pulled San in for a short hug. I could see the resemblance. He has his dads nose and face shape, but his mothers eyes. He is a beautiful combination of their features.
"Good to see you too dad." San said warmly. Then his dad turned to me.
"You must be wooyoung." He said as he reached out his hand to me and shook it. "It's nice to meet you. I'm sorry for my wife. She gets... excited, to put it lightly." I chuckled at his apology.
"It's okay mister Choi, I don't mind at all. I'm just as excited to meet you." Am I being polite enough? I hope so...
"Now, now. Don't flatter us that much. Come on in, I'll get your bags." He offered. I gratefully accepted his offer and followed San inside.
My jaw dropped at the decorations. The house looked like it was shining. Garlands covered the window sills and fairy lights were strung across the room. It looked so cozy, I could get used to this.
