Chapter 21

The week was long, everyone was still trying to cope with Byrd being gone. 

  I was having mixed emotions. As you may know my baby will be due in less than two weeks. I was nervous, anxious, scared, and excited all at once.  I just hoped I was ready. 

I had been busy all week though. I had been working, and baby shopping a lot. That was mostly because of Cat, she had been going crazy with the baby shopping lately. She bought clothes, diapers, wipes, creams, lotions, shoes, toys, baby swings, jumpers, and everything. Now my room was overtaken by baby stuff. I’d be glad when Ernesto and his crew finish fixing up those rooms. So we hired Jenny’s boyfriend to fix up the two rooms that were not safe to live in. Also we discovered more rooms. You remember that door at the end of the hallway, that nobody ever went into. Well behind that door, was like another house. Seriously, it was like a duplex or something. It was a living room, two bedrooms, and a small kitchen. It was so weird. Like somebody could have been living behind that door, and we not even know it.  Also another discovery we made is that there’s a pool in the backyard. We have lived at this place for six months, and nobody ever wondered to the backyard. So we finally did, and we discovered there was an Olympic sized pool in our backyard, and we didn’t even know it. The pool hadn’t been used in years, so we had to have that serviced too. Well it was suppose to be ready for swimming today.  Anyway this week had been hectic. Plus, Sadie had been freaking out all week, about having a baby. I was like girl get a grip. She had just been like really crazed about being pregnant.  Jenny and  me tried to calm her down. But we figured she’d eventually be ok. Jenny was excited for us both. She was made sure that Sadie and me both knew that she would be our godmother.  I was like ok. But Jenny had really been a doll lately. I mean she got her boyfriend to fix up the rooms, and service the pool for super cheap.  Plus, she was like really helpful. She made sure Sadie and me made our doctors appointments, and she insisted that she stay just in case whatever happens. Sadie said Jenny was a bisexual polyandry freak who wanted to get us in bed. I don’t know where she got that idea from. Ok yeah Jenny was a little clingy, a little too welcoming, but she was really just being nice right?  Whatever. Jenny had odd ways but she was ok I guess. Anyway so now I was in my room surrounded by baby stuff, and just thinking. In less than two weeks, I’d have me a baby boy. A crying, screaming, stinky, fussy, baby boy. On one hand, I was absolutely thrilled that I was really about to be a mommy. On the other hand though, I was like I can’t believe this nonsense.  So I was having mixed emotions big time, this time.  Overall though, I was excited. This pregnancy was about to be over for real. I can finally lay on my stomach. My feet will finally not be swollen. My back won’t hurt, and I won’t be so tired all the time. I was so happy about this pregnancy being over, I wanted to go to church, screaming “Glory Hallelujah, I’m finally free! Yeah God” I was just that happy. I managed to contain myself though. 

“Snuggle Bunny, oh where is Snuggle Bunny” I heard Jenny call. 

“In my room” I said. 

“Hey Snuggle Bunny!” Jenny said jumping in bed next to me. 

“Hey” I said. 

“So Ernesto told me, by next week the rooms should ready to go” Jenny said. 

“Fantastic” I said. 

“Well Snuggle Bunny guess what” Jenny said. 

“What” I said. 

“So I was thinking since the pool is up and ready to go. Why don’t we have like a pool hangout later on this evening? Ya know me, your lady, Ernesto, Sadie and her boyfriend. Why don’t we hangout tonight? We’ve been pretty depressed about Byrd! Nothing like a swim party to cheer people up” Jenny said.
