CHAPTER 23

Maya and Riley went uptown where hitting up a taxi cab was much easier than a boxcar ride. After a while they were out of New York and in Pennsylvania. It took them 5 taxi cabs to get there and they had to pay with Riley's birthday savings.
"So how do you know Farkle's here?" Riley asked Maya as they we're standing infront of The Suburban Extended Stay Hotel.
"I don't know if he is herd or not but unless he has family to stay with he is here. And the hospital is 2 miles from here so it's a pretty good chance." Maya grabbed her best friends hand and they ran into the hotel. They had to go on the lobby sides because the EXIT sides were locked for guest only.
The girls went to the front desk and Maya hit the bell five times fast and a lady with red hear and a petite body came running.
"How may I help you two young ladies?" She asked seeming kind of aggervated.
"We want to know if anyone with the name Stuart Minkus is staying here." Maya asked.
"I'm sorry but that information is confidential."
"What do you mean confidential?"
"I mean that it is-"
"I know what confidential means."
"Are you family?"
"No. But we're best friends. That counts for something."
"No, it doesn't. Now please leave or I will have you escorted out."
"That enough! I need to see my best friend to ask him a very important question and I am not going to stand here and let you tell me that I am not apart of his family; because love makes family not blood! You can't tell me that I am going to have to leave because I'm not leaving until I get what I want and right now, I want to see him. So where is he?!" Riley shouted. The lady and Maya we're both stunned. Maya had never seen this side of Riley after years of friendship.
"Room 131 on the second floor to the left."
Then Riley went back to her perky mode. "Thank you!" Then left to room 131.
"Nice Riles!" Maya said nudging her friend.
"I learned from the best."
The girls reached 131 and knocked on the door. Stuart Minkus, Farkle's father showed up to the door.
"Riley, Maya, what are you two doing here?"
"We came to see Farkle." Maya said.
"Where are your parents?"
"They are in the lobby they wanted us to come talk to Farkle on our own." Riley lied. She knee if Stuart knew the truth he would just send her and Maya back home.
"Oh maybe I should go talk to them and give you and Maya some privacy."
"Um no! Riley's parent said they we're going to leave the lobby and get Auggie some food because he said he was hungry. So you should just, not wait for them because Auggie is a sllooow eater."
"Okay then, well Farkle is asleep but I'm sure he won't mind waking up for you two. He is always talking about you girls. He said he would bring back Pluto just to make you happy. Well I don't want to be helicopter parent so I will you guys, uhm,girls, to it."
Stuart left and woke up Farkle. When he woke up Riley was sitting on the bed and Maya was sitting on the computer desk.
"Hey Maya, Riley I wasn't expecting you."
"Yeah well we weren't expecting to be here." Maya said.
"Farkle we can here to ask you a very important question." Riley exclaimed.
"Okay. What is it?"
"You have to promise it doesn't leave this room." Maya declared.
"It won't now tell me."
"Alright bed head, the question is, how do you love both me and Riley of we our completely different?"
"First of all, my head doesn't look that bad. Second of all I think you already know the answer to that."
"What are you saying Farkle? Maya is dark and I am light but you love us equally how can you love to two different things the same?"
"If you and Maya are best friends, then why do you love each other?"
"I love Riley because she keeps me out of trouble. I know I won't fall on the wrong path if I have her."
"I love Maya because she pushes me to explore. If it weren't for her I would be some boring girl who believes in just book smarts and not in experiencing life."
"Exactly, I love you equally because I get to see more than just one perspective. You have to understand that when you see more than one perspective you are really see the world in a bigger extent."
"But when it comes to dating..." Maya said.
"When it comes to dating you should choose the person that makes you the happiest and best person you can be. You don't need anyone that's gonna hold you down. If they don't make your life better than why waste your time. Though I guess you are talking about Lucas and Joshua."
"I just love them both and I am scared to choose the wrong one and lose the other one."
"Maya I know you are fearless and strong and you can get through this. Just remember, sisters before misters."
"Yeah, I know Riley."
For the rest of the times the kids just watched movies until Stuart found out Riley and Maya lied. He sent them home on a train and Riley's parents we're furious. But they had a little surprise for Riley and Maya though.
