CHAPTER 10

Lucas was sitting on a seat on the train but Maya was standing up holding on to a pole. Then she notice Lucas looking at her. He smiled and she smiled back. Then he just looked her. All of a sudden there was a jerk to the train. Maya fell in Lucas's arms and the lights went out. Lucas thought it was his moment.. So he leaned for and kissed Maya.

For awhile, Maya's mind was saying stop it. He liked Riley! But her heart was skipping beats and didn't let her pull away. The lights came on but they were still kissing. All they heard through there ears were: "Aww..."

Then they both backed away and looked around. All Maya could think of was did she just make a mistake.

An income call came in on the train.

"Excuse me passsangers. The sightseeing trip has been canceled do to weather. We have Hurricane Sandy coming our way. You guys will be here for about 3 hours because we will be taking an underground trail back to your original destinations. Please do not panic. We promise to get you home safe and sound."

Lucas held Maya in his arms.

"No worries, I all ready have seen New York in your eyes."

"Lucas, I am not what your looking for. I am not pretty, or super smart, or funny. I know I seem confident but deep down in side I'm..Broken"

"Maya I don't care what you are. I just care who you are. Right not you are the love of my life."

Maya pulled away from him.

"I don't want to be with you. Okay. I am not Riley. I know you like her. So stop being so sweet to me. I just. Want to be friends okay?" She was crying now. But her tears could never seem to make on the floor.

"Maya I'm sorr-"

"No! I'm sorry. That I can't be Riley." She walked in the bathroom and looked in the mirror and saw her mom. The one thing she promised herself she would never see.
