CHAPTER 12

The weather was winding hard so the Hart's went inside. But when Maya went downstairs she had walked into something traumatic.

"So cowboy, why the heck did you leave Maya on the subway so you could spread your lips all over Riley?" Joshua said pushing Lucas back.

Everyone walked forward.

" Joshua," Cory yelled. "Don't do this."

"No Mr.Matthews. Let him do it." Lucas said. " I left her because I thought she had already gotten off and if you put your hands on me again it's gonna get dirty!"

Joshua pushed him and kept pushing him. "I'm pushing you. I'm pushing cowboy. So! What are you gonna do about huh? Huh?" When he pushed him the last time Lucas fell on the floor.

He got up brushed himself off. "I'm not gonna fight you if that's what everyone's wondering. I don't fight unless I have to. And in this case I don't. Riley,Maya, I'll see you guys tomorrow at school. Goodbye everyone!" He left and slammed the door.

Both Riley and Maya stared at eachother and then Joshua.

Katy's phone rang and had a phone call that she had to work for a week until 12:00 AM. She said yes and told Maya then Katy left to close up with her boss.

Maya went to Josh's room and tried to Find one reason to hate herself for this but couldn't. She just looked at the bed and saw her and Josh making corny jokes. Maya smiled at the thought. Then Joshua came in. She did know he was there and he wrapped him arms around her. But she pulled away and sat on the bed. So he followed her.

"Maya, if I upset you I'm sorry. It just angered me. Something about that guy makes me feel unsafe for you. Just don't hang around him anymore okay."

"Okay? Remember you Riley's uncle. Not mine! I can do whatever I want and it's my decision."

"Whatever you do just be careful."

Riley walked in and stood infront of Josh.

"Mom asked me to do this for her." Riley raised her hand and slapped Joshua. "What were you thinking? If Lucas was anymore immature than you were it would have been a fight!" She shouted then smiled and skipped off.

"I need to get ready to walk home. It's already about 5:30." Maya said staring St the clock. She got up and looked out the window. Then she heard the tv and ran downstairs to see the hurricane was bowing down. But kids would still have a 2 hour delay.

"Maya, can I walk you home? Just this last time?"

She grabbed his hand and they climbed out the window. Something Maya and Riley would do all the time.

They made it home and Maya looked at Josh and they smiled at eachother.

"Eh, I guess you not to bad at what you do." Maya said relating to earlier.

"What can I say? It's a gift!" Joshua left and Maya went to her room and finished her book.
