MAYA'S CHOICE (FINAL)

 Maya was standing outside the hospital. Thinking about her choice, how it would effect her life. Was she ready to love someone? Was anyone willing to love her back? It all was about to be answered. And she knew that it was time. Time to make a choice. 

 Maya went back into the hospital and asked everyone if they would go to the juvy Josh was with her. She even asked the nurse if it was okay if Lucas came in a wheelchair. The nurses hesitated to let him go but his parents were okay with it, as  long as Corey and Topanga kept an eye on him.

  After riding in a hospital care van for half in hour they were at the jailhouse. When they saw Josh he was even more beat up than he was when Riley and Maya visited him. He black eye was now completely purple, and his forehead had a big scrap across the top of it. He was now at a table across from everyone instead of on a telephone. Maya was sitting directly across from him and everyone else was standing. 

  "Hey Maya," he said roughly. His voice sounded like he had a pipe stuck in his throat. 

  "Don't hey me. How could you ask Missy to send those photos of Riley and Lucas to you. You mad Riley feel awful and you made me feel sabotaged. And to think I actually liked you." Maya was shouting but stopped when people started staring.

  "I know , you hate me now. But there is something you should know."

  "What Josh?"

  "I only did all of that stuff because...well because.. I was forced to."

  "What do you mean you were forced to?"

  "Some anonymous profile online was stalking me and found out my secret."

  "What secret?" Riley asked budding in.

  "I'm...I'm....gay."

  Every gasped. 

  "How can you be gay when you fought Lucas for me. You said that you loved me."

   "I wasn't trying to get you. I was trying to get you away from Lucas so..I could be with him. I'm in love with Lucas. But I had to pretend to like you because the profile hacked my computer and has photos of me and other guys together."

 "So you never liked Maya? But you love me? I can't believe this. I'm not one for judging but dude you are revolting. Its okay to be gay but not to hurt a bunch of people in the process of not getting caught." Lucas said angrily.

 "Lucas don't be mad. I know what do." Maya said. She took a deep breath and said these words:  "The person I choose is...Myself. I don't want to be with anyone anymore. And Riley you and Lucas are perfect for each other and I know he likes me but, he loves you. You two deserve each other. Right now I need to love myself before I can let anyone love me." She said all this in a matter of seconds and then looked at everyone.

  "You made the right choice Maya." Topanga said.

   "I know. And I think that we all better get home. I want to spend my Christmas Eve with everyone I love, and who love me."

  "She's right, Auggie and my parents are coming over tonight and I don't want to eat dinner late." Corey said.

  They all started to walk out but before the policemen took Josh back his cell Josh yelled Maya's name. 

  "Yeah Josh?" Maya asked turning around.

  "Can you tell everyone I love them. And that I'm sorry."

  "I will."

  "Merry Christmas Maya."

   "Merry Christmas Josh." The Maya walked out with a smile on her face because she knew she made the right choice.
