When Maya walked out of the bathroom lights were flickering and sirens were bearing in. Everyone was looking around in confusion. Maya tried to look for Lucas she couldn't find him.

"Passenger on C2 may get off. The doors opened and Maya got off. But she still didn't see Lucas. It wasn't the stop she usually gets on. Because it wasn't her stop. She got off at the wrong stop.

She looked ahead and she saw the statue of liberty. It was surrounded by the hurricane. Then a strong wind blew and Maya fell to the ground but when she fell she didn't fall on the ground. She fell on someone. That someone was Joshua. He looked at Maya and hugged her.

"Maya! Are you okay?"

"Yes. How did you find me?"

" I saw the news and Cory called you mom and she said you weren't their!"

"Let's take you home!"

Maya pulled away.

"No! I can't be with her. She's the reason why I'm like this."

"What?"

"My mom! Just take me home with you. Please!"

He just stared at her.

"Fine. Get on."

Sbe hopped omitted his back and he ran them home. When Maya turned around to see the running people and the crying children. Roaring noises everyone was painting. She just thought of he life in two words. Scared. Broken.

They finally made it home and in the living room was Riley,Auggie,Topanga,Cory,Lucas, and the one most unexpected...Katy Hart.

Katy walked up to Maya and came to hug her but Maya moved back.

"Stay away from me. Everyone." She cried and ran upstairs into Riley's room and went outside to the balcony. She just sat there and wondered what her life would be like without a mother. All of a sudden Farkle came up to her and sat beside her. He saw the tears flow.

"What happened?"

" My mom. My friends. My crushes. My LIFE!!! Everyone hates me. I wish I would just die all ready!"

"Oh Maya don't say that! It's not true!"

"Yes it is! And aren't you suppose to be with your grandad?"

" I'm not leaving until the hurricane dies down, and I'm sorry things aren't working out for you right now but you have friends..Who love you. Who know you well enough to know this will all blow over. Even if things go wrong you always have our back."

"Do I?"

"Yes."

He hugged her tight. Then he left when his dad told him to come inside. Maya was all alone until Katy came in and sat beside her.

"Maya, Joshua told me what you said. I totally understand why you don't want to be like me. I am a waitress who lives on her paycheck, I dont pay any attention to what's right in front of me. My daughter who has been going through a lot lately and I had to figure it put by someone else."

"Don't blame yourself. I just have to Find someone to blame because I feel like if I blame myself, everyone will blame there self. I don't want people feeling bad for me. I don't want to cause pain for anyone."

"Maya, if we chose to feel pain the world would be a perfect place. But it's not. If it were wouldn't be right here."

She hugged Maya and kissed her forehead. "Mom, when will I stop feeling all the pain? Why doesn't someone else feel this?"

"We dont choose the road we go on in life. The road chooses us, and no road is easier than the other. We have different strength and weaknesses."

Maya pulled away and smiled.

"You should make t-shirts" She joked. The two girls laughed and looked to the broken sky.
