Saturday morning at 6:30, Maya Hart was awoken by her mother Katy Hart.

"Maya, I have to work all day today so ask Riley if you can have dinner at her house." Katy said.

"Okay, mom I need to-," but her mom had already walked out. It was nothing new to Maya, her mom never paid attention to her.

Maya went back to sleep and woke up at 8:00. Lucas said he would be there by 10:00. So Maya got up and took a shower and washed her hair. It took her a few hours to comb it, then brush it, and then straighten it. Afterwards she put on a red tank top that went with a red floral skirt. It was one of the dressiest things she had. Most of her clothes were thrift shop clothes or things Riley gave her and she turned into rebellious way.

It was 9:57 and Maya was waiting in her living room for Lucas. At 10:05 Lucas showed up. He was wearing kakis and a blue T-shirt.

"Hey Maya, I brought the book with me. Do you have yours?" Lucas asked.

"Yeah. Well come in and make yourself at home. It's not much as you can see I don't have a really privileged life." Maya said sitting beside Lucas.

"That's okay. I think it's unique it has an artistic glow."

"Is that another word for colorfully messy?"

"No. I say what I mean and mean what I say. You can always trust me on that."

Maya smiled and tried not to blush but failed. Lucas smiled back and opened up his book.

Maya and Lucas read the first 4 chapters. There was 26 of them but the visual report wasn't due in 3 weeks. They figured it was enough time.

"You know, this Belle character is very prejudice." Lucas said. Belle was the main character and it was in her point of view.

"Yeah, she kinda reminds me of.. well..Me! I always prejudging people because I am afraid of getting hurt by them. I have had my heartbroken many times and... I just want to be safe." Maya exclaimed.

"Maya, you know that I would never let anyone hurt you. Your my friend and I love you." Lucas stared at Maya and then looked down.

Maya just kept staring at Lucas. She didn't know what he mean by "love." Did he mean LOVE as in a friend, or LOVE as in liking love. It was silent for a while and then Maya asked Lucas if he was hungry. She didn't have much food I her kitchen but she had enough to fix a sandwich. So they both made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

" My mom just text me. She's outside. I better get going. I will see you on Monday. Bye." Lucas said.

"Okay see'ya. Bye."

That night Maya went over to dinners at Riley's. She saw Farkle there so they must have been reading "A Woman's Affliction." Maya walked in and saw they were eating lasagna with extra cheese. It was one of her favorite foods.

"So Maya how are you and Lucas liking the book?" Cory Matthews asked.

"We think it's pretty good. Although on some parts things get confusing." Maya replied.

"Like what?" Riley asked.

"Like the part when she falls asleep in her bed but wakes up on her couch. I mean am I missing something?"

"You see Maya, I can tell your read up to Chapter 4 because that's when she starts thinking her husband is cheating on her. So she starts overthinking things and forgetting things. She never went to sleep in her bed. She just THOUGHT she did. That's whats wrong with humans today. We overthink the unthinkable. Love is a strong thing and when you start breaking trust from a person you break off love and they see you in another light." Cory said.

"So your saying, that the world should stop thinking so much just do things? Riley asked.

"I think what he means is that we overthink into negativity as in we don't see the bright side we look at the bad side. But the people who really love you show you that what you think is bad is actually beautifully amazing." Farkle commented.

"Oh." Maya said. They ate dinner and she went home. Thinking about nothing but "love" and "Affliction"
